Very cool. I saw that posted on the Byrned Out Facebook page not too long ago. I miss Byrne's work at the Big Two. When all is said and done, he and Perez are my two all around favorite super hero artists. Their styles work well with nearly every character.
I recently ran across an X-men podcast called the Uncanny Podcast. It's three twentysomething's reading their way through the X-men. They are at a Hellfire club arc just before the Dark Phoenix issues. It was fun to listen to their comments on those issues and to hear how well they still stand up to an audience 30 years later. They really give Byrne props for how he draws Kitty Pryde. I'm not sure they realize Byrne was basically a co-writer on the series with Claremont. Not taking anything away from Claremont, but Byrne as his co-plotter kept him more focused than he would be later on the series.Comment

Is this a recent piece? Very cool. Thank you Ed for selecting my new desktop for my laptop. I think Byrne drew THE definitive Captain America, Superman and X-Men. I'd love to find a collected verison of Byrne's CA stuff, especially the Baron Blood/Union Jack arc. What a jerk, but what a talent.I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.Comment

Yeah, I remember meeting him, and seeing him on a panel at a comic convention back in the early 80's when I was about 15. It was kind of tough to realize at that age that my favourite comics artist at the time was actually kind of a jerk.Comment

That's a nice piece of art but his work today is sloppy IMHO. He has even stated himself that what he submits or inks himself is more sketch-like rather than finished pencils
Read his High Ways mini and was totally unimpressed. Such a shame really but I guess he's made enough money and doesn't feel the need to be more prolific? Or do you think he's burnt a few bridges at the Big Two?

I like when he draws backgrounds not just figures in space.
Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

Those Byrne/Stern Cap stories are reprinted in a trade called Captain America: War and Remembrance. You may be able to get it through Amazon.comComment
