The film was super satisfying on all levels. Full of action, but we really got to know more about the characters, maybe not everything but more.

What I always loved about Captin America is that he elevates the characters around him, making them better by setting such a strong example and standard. I love that Marvel Studios doesn't run away from that and Marvel put it up on the big screen unashamedly. Marvel trusts its characters as they were created and as they have developed.

I know I'm whipping a dead horse, but I wish WB/DC had as much faith in its characters.

Man, so much to talk about. That movie is DENSE. So much happened in it, but nothing ever felt rushed, and no characters suffered for the pace. Such a satisfying film!

I was waiting for the Red Skull as well. But I honestly think it may be better off to wait and him in the third film.

The use of Zola was inspired. So great to see him very close to his comic version, and a great tie-back to the original film. Anyone who thought the Bucky torture scene in the first film WASN'T a set-up for this needs to pay more attention. And believe me, there are those who didn't get that, and they KNOW about the Winter Soldier!

It really surprised me that they didn't magically sweep all this away at the end, and have SHIELD running at 70% or so. I'm so glad they didn't. Another great thing about these Marvel films, is much like the comics, there is change and growth with each story. I do wonder what they are going to do with the TV series. I need to catch up on that...

DAMN, that was a good movie!

    Chris

Marvel still has rights to Jim Hammond Torch. it can be done. Just don't call him Human torch.

lol!! true, but since we live in the day and age of heroes calling themselves by their real names; Robert Frank can be used and Fury can always say he was called the Whizzer as a joke.

How Marvel does not do an Invaders/All Winners squad/Liberty legion is beyond me....I'd love to see a throw back Superhero movie set in the late 40's early 50's

thanks Brue. that makes sense. I had thought it might be them but did not recall any connection to hydra in their back story. but if they are cutting the Magneto connection, the altered storyline makes sense

I think Op:Mego is close to spot-on. I differ on the villains and Scarlett.

The Red Skull thing has been nagging at me. I knew in the beginning Weaving wasn't on board. The word was he has no interest in locking into another decade-long contract after Matrix and LOTR because it forces you to turn down other opportunities. And Redford wasn't going to be Skull because he's way too old to bank on his health. But then the Von Strucker rumors hit, so I started thinking post-credits. Then, the toys came out and that made think he was in third act reveal.

Instead we get nebulous, which works well for HYDRA, but it's left me wondering if they originally planned on Skull, couldn't get Weaving and then opted to re-write with Strucker.

also nice that they had Peggy in there, both in flashbacks and with Cap visiting her on her deathbed

It did seem like several scenes that were shown in the trailer were cut from the film (like Winter Soldier picking up Cap's shield
that was in there. he picked it up when fighting cap in the street.

loved the movie, really well done. they did a great job bringing Falcon to life. who were those characters in the cells after the credits? when they first went to that scene I though that was Red Skull in the hydra uniform

Yeah, I'm also thinking there'll be a few deleted sequences included on the Blu-ray.
    Hopefully, anyway.
