Pertwee is perfect, he's really not well known in the US but he's great.

he really looks like his father. put an unruly wig on him and some lace cuffs and he could be the doctor

I was so excited when I heard this news. His father was my main Doctor Who. I was hoping he might show up as the Doctor at some point, but Alfred is a great fit, and hopefully leads to big things for him in the future.

I don't know the guy, but if he has an ounce of his father's commanding presence, he'll do just fine.

He's aged since I last saw him. Was a movie in which a bunch of kids would steal cars then drive them into stores to steal from them.

He's a bit more subdued than his father but he does have that presence on the screen. He doesn't do alot of stuff in the states but he was Lestrade in a few episodes of Elementary this season

Sean Pertwee's granddad Roland was something of an actor as well. I believe he was the influence for Jon's capes and frills.

I'm a big Sean Pertwee fan (Event Horizon, Dog Soldiers, etc).
Years ago, I ran into him standing outside a London pub. He was having a heated conversation on his cell phone, so I decided against shoving a DVD under his nose and asking for an autograph. Sean, how about that autograph now?

Dog Soldiers is my favorite werewolf movie, and he's the tough sergeant in it.

And yes, he looks so much like his Dad, only his voice isn't as smooth...
