Lexington Comic Con: Last minute roll call!

I can't believe I forgot to ask this, since it started yesterday, and I'm going today, but who's going to the Lexington (KY) Comic Con?

If you see a guy with a 12 year old boy dressed as the 11th Doctor (Matt Smith) and a 6 year-old female Flash, stop by and say "HI"!

Well, I was the only one I saw! I didn't see any other Mego peeps. If I missed you, I'm sorry we didn't bump into one another. A great show, but MAN it was packed. This show has grown by leaps and bounds every year.

I just couldn't make it work this time. I was looking forward to meeting and taking a picture with Shooter McGavin, the best comedic villain. If Jackson Bostwick had been there again I'd have made sure I went, but they didn't even invite him. He was a bit disappointed in the snub.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

^I hadn't heard that about Bostwick, and I never saw Christopher McDonald! I'm sure he was there, but it was so packed, I probably missed at least 25% of it, despite being there for 6 hours!

          Here's some pics:

The Doctor arrived in his Tardis....

...and then battled a Dalek inside!

Flash-Girl participated in a company crossover!

Then they both traveled to Endor and met a familiar Wookie.

Alien symbiotes can be as nasty as Zygons!

          Young Justice team-up!

How often do you see a Static cosplay? Great suit, and a favorite of Andrew, so he had to get a photo.

This con is heavy on the Power Rangers, but Dani doesn't seem to mind!

The highlight for me was getting William Shatner's autograph. I couldn't think of anything witty to say to him, but he was very courteous and pleasant.

Actually, the real highlight wasn't his autograph, but when I saw him again later. Not long after getting out of the autograph line, I caught up to Cindy and the kids, and we took some concessions out of the convention hall into the breezeway. Huge windows face the street and sidewalk, and we were watching people go by.

Suddenly, the Shat goes by driving a little utility cart, with a show staff member on the back. I couldn't believe it! The mighty captain of the Enterprise driving something only slightly bigger than a Power Wheels!

About 10 minutes later, he came back by again! This time we were ready and waved and yelled at him. He smiled back at us. Cool moment.

If only Takei was driving with Shatner riding in the back and Nichelle Nichols hanging over the back, legs crossed, and frequencies open!

Neat pics! Thanks for sharing. Glad you had fun.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

It was a fun show! Everyone seemed to be having a good time, and the mood was light and fun. My kids got stopped by a lot of folks for pics, in addition to getting plenty of pics of other cosplayers.

My only gripe was they REALLY need to get better organized. We had prepaid for tickets, and we still waited in line for over an hour, and folks paying at the door were actually getting in just as fast if not faster. I don't think they were prepared for the attendance volume. As I said earlier it seems to at least double in attendance every year!

Hi Chris, I am from Somerset and went to the con to. I thought it was awesome, I was able to get all the Star Trek autographs and getting to meet them in person was unreal. I also picked up 3 12 inch Mego Star Trek figures which has got me wanting to complete the collection!

Hey, good deal! I didn't see the 12" Trek figures...maybe you got them first!

Looking forward to next year, and I hope Takei and Nichols come back. If they do, I'll probably get their autographs then.

They were both very nice and Shatner was very pleasant as well. Very glad I went.
