    Wendy Pini as Red Sonja

Haven't seen some of these before. Also didn't realize she co-wrote an issue of Red Sonja back in the day. I know she recently did a Red Sonja cover on Gail Simone's run.

it would be great to see this episode of the Mike Douglas show! (put this on the list along with the Sonny and Cher Mego episode).

Makes me think of Elfquest, which no one I know ever speaks of anymore.

Elfquest was big back in 10th grade...I never cared for it myself..I wonder what happened to all of those kids that talked about it non-stop in geometry class...

OH MAN...That Mike Douglas Show brings back some serious memories of me as a kid at home!!! I think I remember that episode when it aired...I seem to recall my mom calling me and my brother into the living room to take a look.

I remember that Jamie Farr (Jameel Farah) was a comicbook fan, but seeing this now, never realized to what degree and at that time...WOW. Would love to see a more current interview with him specifically on comics.

As far as Elfquest and Wendy Pini is concerned, had the pleasure of meeting her before Elfquest became huge...very nice, approachable, and giving...but had heard later on when Elfquest became more popular that she was a bit stand-offish.

Loved the 1st run of Elfquest (All Original) and the subsequent runs had potential but at times seemed forced or rushed.

Not sure why they could never get an Elfquest Movie out of production...seems like an unfortunate loss of an opportunity.

Eh...What could have been I guess.

Yes...at one point Jamie Farr points and is trying to say, watch the way you handle that, to which he (Phil Sully?) says 'I checked his fingers, they were clean and everything'...a very kringe-worthy moment...LOL

I love early Con culture. There's a spark of something special in those early pioneers.

Wendi and Richard Pini are putting out a new Elfquest right now...should be a 6-8 book run. Mine are on reserve. Still love the original Elfquest story line, and Wendys Art. I think when Wendy was putting out so many books, and was farming her titles out to new artists was when it lost some of its appaeal. I am very frustrated with the failures...the movie and the toy line. THe figures looked great, and they failed to produce Skywise.....it made it to proto type...but never got produced. The movie has seen many incarnations that have not seen fruition. There is the bootleg animation version...but dont talk to Wendy about it unless you want her to take out her Red Sonjia Sword.

It was pretty huge that Elfquest had newsstand distribution back in the day via Epic/Marvel... for a creator owned book! (alongside Groo and Dreadstar of course).

Elfquest should be riding high on this new cycle of fantasy fandom we're undergoing right now.

That guy Phil looked like he could be Lou Ferrigno's cousin! Good stuff! Jamie was sure a comic buff, wasn't he?
