Looks like Beware the Batman is cancelled

Cartoon Network announced it's 2014-2015 programming, and Batman ain't on it. Neither is DC Nation, besides Teen Titans Go!

I like seeing new Tom & Jerry, Scooby-Doo (my daughter will be ecstatic) and Bugs Bunny. But CN continues to abuse and under-use it's DC brand. Just think, a year ago they were all about promoting Beware the Batman, even packing the SDCC BBP Big Bang Theory Sheldon ReMego with a Batman/TT Go convention bag. Yet, they yank it off the schedule in October, and don't give us an signs of airing the remaining 15 episodes.

I'll admit, it wasn't my favorite Batman series, but I was growing to like it. It never got much of a chance to find an audience.

Are kids just not into adventure cartoons anymore? Everything is comedy-based. Green Lantern:TAS was excellent, and got jerked around the schedule with really only one season too.

I really enjoyed some of the DC Nation shorts, so I hope they return in some fashion.

Cartoon Network doesn't like to pay for DC Characters. I got the Beware the Batman DVD and I guess that is all we are going to see. I still do not understand why WB/DC does not air these on the CW on Saturday. Its there own network. I haven't watch the CW on Saturday in a long time because they keep showing butchered animation from Japan.

I don't doubt Batman will make it back in animated form at some point, probably sooner than others. With Batman/Superman gearing up with a Justice League in it, I suspect they are putting their efforts into tying in a show with that line-up.

Also: the Gotham TV show.

Not sure what you mean by this... doesn't Warners own both Cartoon Network and the DC Characters? Less cost and more benefit if you are producing a show using IP that you own yourself rather than license externally.

I need to catch up on Fatman on Batman. I love the guests, but I have a hard time with the ribald humor. I don't mind a little, but Smith wallows in it every time. He handles the guests very well, but I just wish he'd scale back the crude stuff. Time to grow up a bit, man (says the guy on a toy board).
