This looks absolutely terrible, but I'm curious who everyone would have cast instead.

I'm thinking Judd Hirsh, Marilu Henner, Tony Danza, and Danny Devito would be way better, but I've been watching a lot of Taxi on ME TV
Of all the souls I have encountered his was the most...human.

A friend of mine sent me this link and the first comment on the link which he described as "best comment":

Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell are your new FANTASTIC FOUR for Josh Trank

This is good news for southern California's electricity providers, because now all they need to do is attach magnets to Jack Kirby's corpse, and the energy generated by his grave-spinning should power half the state for the next year.

Thought you guys would get a laugh out of that

Personally i don't mind lesser or unknown actors getting cast in Superhero movies. That means they are more likely to need the paychecks and stick with a franchise series of films longer. However with possible exception of Kate the rest are just unacceptable as these beloved characters. I will vote with my dollars and wait until i netflix gets it and maybe then watch it for the price of maybe a dollar.

Wow, I think that was more unexpected than the actual casting announcment. Could it be, for once, that a movie studio has actually listened to overwhelmingly negative fan response that they just said 'Screw it, it would be cheaper to cut our losses and start over.' Assuming everybody only signed for one film it would be easy to buy them out of their contract.

Lots of denials, but it doesn't explain why they're asking around. If it's correct and they looking, Trank is screwed. Fox has had a good track record for the past few years so studios will be more apt to trust their instincts then risk on him.

With only six months before shooting, you're really into the budgetary weeds. To me, this reads like a case where Trank can't make there budget work on his script, Fox wants a pairing down to meet costs, and neither side has given. So Fox has started shopping not just as contingency, but as a way to send a message.

To be honest, I'm not surprised this noise started, correct or not. This development has taken way too long for such an established property. I mean, this isn't Prometheus where you're generating new concepts to revive old ideas. Add Millar to the equation and you've got all kinds of mess on your hands.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the rebooted comic? Maybe someone wanted to incorporate the new book's approach and one side objected. I could see Feige nudging Fox to follow the new take.

I don't think they have time to get a new Director and recast this. Theres no way they will get this out next year if they do that.

Honestly, I hope Fox somehow fumbles on the film and the FF rights revert back to Marvel/Disney.
