Spectacular Spider-Man toon; Anyone watch it?

It debuted this past Saturday. I think it has the potential to be the best Spidey toon yet. It has the feel of the Lee/Ditko stories, translated to modern times. Of course some changes were made to the villains' backstories, but they thought them out pretty well. My only complaint thus far is that they all may be a tad bit TOO connected to Peter's life. But that makes for easier story-telling in a half-hour format. Animation is a bit cartoony, but not quite as much as the action figures make it seem. I'm looking forward to more, and Andrew really liked it.

I also watched the new Legion of Super-Heroes episode "In the Begining" which flashbacked to the origin and the orignal trio of Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl. Pretty close to the comic to boot!

Unfortunately, or local CW decided to NOT AIR The Batman series finale with the Justice Leauge.Instead they ran a "Local Newsmakers" show. Yippee. Me and my son were majorly ticked.

" Lost Hero's " Was pretty good Chris.

I liked the Spider-man toon. Agreed it has potential. I am looking forward to the Lizard next week,.. He is quickly becomming one of my favorite Spidey villians as of late. I did hate Vultures Suit though,.. didn't care for the red, & thought they could have turned down the space age in it, .. a bit.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Making Electo's face his old lightening bolt mask was clever and it was nice to see Gwen Stacy as a main character.

I thought it was trying hard to channel the Lee/Ditko thing as well and making it more modern worked for me.

Lost Heroes wasn't bad, I taped it so if you need a copy let me know Chris. My son has watched it about 5 times now, it was a hit here.

I've been watching the commercials for this for months, and somehow did not set up my TIVO to tape it. I corrected that, but I am annoyed I missed the first episode (or was it really two spread out over an hour).

It was two eps spread out over an hour.

Quick question. Was Lost Heroes the series finale or the season finale? If it's the series finale, are there plans to continue with the Justice League in another toon?

sorry, I don't keep up with these things.

Lost Heroes was the series finale. Apparently Warners is working on a new DC animated series titled "The Brave and the Bold". It's exactly what you think it is, Batman plus a rotating series of guest stars. No other details are known. Apparently it isn't tied to any previous DC animated continuity.

I'm not a huge Spidey fan, but I liked the cartoon. I actually didn't care for "Lost Heroes." I thought there were too many details overlooked that prevented the story from working for me. Instead of using those robots, they should have just gone ahead and done an adaptation of the Amazo story.

                      I thought it was OK.
I like that they introduced a ton of characters right away and that they are following his early comic line in that he is in high school and likes Gwen. With Gwen in Spidey 3, I was thinking they might look to get rid of Kiersten Dunst for 4 - Dunst, in USA today, was quoted saying they couldn't do spider-man 4 without her sam or tobey. I think this cartoon will help the public see the importance of the Stacey character. Dunst is gone imo- right now she is an overpaid paper weight.

                            >I think in the movie they should have started with Gwen. Not only would it be more comic accurate, it would give them somewhere to go if the acttress playing Gwen started not working out.

Thing is, they sort of did... sort of. The big finish from the first film was pretty much the "Death of Gwen Steacy" ending, but with different characters and, well.... a different end.

I missed the time shift for LOSH (sounds like a great one). we had the batman series finale here it was very good. my kids loved spiderman and it was simple enough for them to follow it (they are 4 and 5) overall I think it was a winner
