DC Super Powers Character Redesigns

That DC ordered those redesigns to put a little more coin in the pockets of Jack Kirby, George Perez and the like makes them all the more interesting to me.

I think there is more to it than this, because I believe the Kirby estate still has participation in these characters. Which is why you always see Kirby credited in shows where they use Darkseid, etc. I do think they used Super Powers to get the ball rolling, but I think he may have gotten participation thereafter, just like Hannigan for his Brainiac redesign, and Perez for Cyborg and New Luthor. I know Perez and Wolfman definitely got participation with all the NTT characters they created.

To this day Hannigans version of Brainiac is the one I associate most with the character.

Kirby did some work on a few of the Superfriend seasons as well.
