Once the toys/paraphernalia was worked out, we all knew this had to be coming. You can't get merchandise rights correct but not video, it's the same contractual agreements.

I can't wait for the real stories to come out about how the hangup was profit participation and the other "issues" were resolved several years ago.

I don't think it can be a koinkydink that Yvonne Craig finally signs and just under three months later, the boxset is announced.

Rumour has it that the negotiations started around when they were settling the Watchmen lawsuit between the two studios.

It had to happen at some point, no one wants to leave that much money on the table.

With the merchandising rights freed, only a matter of time.

I feel confident in saying it will likely be a Time/Life release first with a special edition box-set containing all the bells and whistles for a collector price. But I'll be getting it regardless. I did that with Six Mill and have never regretted it. A great set that is unique in every way. I'm confident they will give Batman the same treatment.
