Star Wars Comics go back to Marvel
Tags: None -
Honestly, other than a name change, I don't think this will amount to much change. It's not like they will resurrect the old Marvel style and bring back Carmine Infantino and Jaxxon the green rabbit.
For those who enjoy the Dark Horse comics, I think the style and tone will be largely consistent with what DH did.
If Marvel decided to pick up with issue #108 and purposely continue a title with old school feel, artwork, and story lines, then sign me up. -

I loves me some Carmine Infantino Flash, but his Star Wars always bothered me to no end as a kid. Although I wouldn't mind it if they brought back Jaxxon. I was also a fan of Lumiya.

Wasn't much into the DH Star Wars comics until the recent return of the original gang. I'm really NOT interested in ancient jedi adventures or future descendants, nor do I care about Vader's childhood. But I do enjoy reading about the characters from the first film, and the series set prior to ESB has been very good.
At Marvel I expect to see the comics revolve around whatever version of the new film they are planning, plus mini-series based on any tv or solo films they do. Also a crossover with either Galactus, Guardians of the Galaxy, or Avengers (or all of the above). And I would be surprised to see the quality of art that DH has been using, maybe Marvel will get one of their crowd pleasers to write it, but they will hand it off to some newbie sensation like most of their other licensed series.
I'm still surprised they haven't launched any Disney animated books yet, not even an archives hc book or some collections. I would have expected a Pirates of the Carribean book by now. I know they have the Kingdom book coming soon, but I figured Uncle Scrooge would be back at the least.Comment

Ahahaha! That pic is too funny!
Okay, sorry - this is a kinda inside joke type thing and probably won't translate: Samurainoir recently took that pic at a party at my place over the holidays. Stef is quite a character! She's a HUGE Star Wars fan, but in her early 20s, so she's never seen a lot of the vintage toys. She was looking at stuff in my collection, but when we showed her the Attack Base she immediately got upset about toy's name, because obviously the Imperials never had a base on Hoth. She really freaked out - yelled and ranted about it for at least 20 minutes. It was really funny and nuts.
She's also an insanely HUGE fan of the Star Wars books and comics - which is why I mentioned her.Comment

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... The events and players are very familiar but something isn't quite right. Luke Skywalker valiantly attacks the Death Star, fires his torpedoes -- and they miss their mark! Welcome to a Star Wars you never imagined, a Star Wars shattered, a Star Wars where the possibilities are ENDLESS! Dark Horse Comics is proud to introduce Star Wars: Infinities -- A New Hope, the first in a series of non-continuity Star Wars stories which are sure to delight Star Wars fans of all ages. Taking off from the end of events in the movie A New Hope, Infinities readers will follow Luke, Han, Leia, Threepio, and Artoo on a journey every bit as action-packed and fantastic as the original Star Wars trilogy.Comment
