The Rock signed on for DC film

We just don't know who. There is wide speculation he is playing Lobo, though I don't think that's a good fit. Others think he's Lex Luthor, which I can see a little bit. Other names thrown out are Martian Manhunter, Black Adam, Shazam, Aquaman and John Stewart. All we know is he states that 2014 he and DC will bring the badassery. Those are his words, so let the speculation begin...

Well, Supes/Bats/WW is due in 2015, so this sounds like it's not going to be THAT film, unless he's talking about when he's filming his part, which seems a bit late in the game for that movie.

I think he'd make a great Captain Marvel. I know that will cause some folks heads to explode because of his non-whiteness, but how many kids want to say a magic word and turn into the Rock? To them, he's a real-life super hero.

He'd also make a damn fine Black Adam, but if they went that route, who would you put opposite him that wouldn't get eaten for breakfast?

If they need a Bane for Vs., he's definitely the right size.
Of all the souls I have encountered his was the most...human.

I see him as a really good fit for Lobo, it'd give him a chance to break out the old Rock persona a bit. He'd be a great Captain Marvel, too.

Count me in as one who thinks he would be a great Lobo. Size? Check. Action abilities? Double Check. Acting chops to be a smart *** while being a believable hard ***? Oh yeah!

they might as well retitle the movie to Crisis on Infinite Earths and be done with it. The alleged pile of characters in it is getting to be a mess.

actually he would work for Orion, too.

He's shown he has a flair for comedy. He'd be terrific if Shazam went the action-comedy route (I'd hate to see them do a Nolan/Snyder take on it).

If the Denzel rumor had any connection to the production, then that means they see Stewart older, like he appeared in the Jusice League cartoon. So Rock fits that well, since he's about ten years older than Cavill, and the same age as Affleck.

Unless they're doing something crazy with Luthor, where he's the near-perfect human specimen to Superman's perceived perfection. I could see Rock in the battlesuit and actually sell it.

But, Stewart is most likely. They seemed to be following the cartoon pretty closely, and this also allows them to reboot the GL franchise with less risk.

Edit: I think this is also a move to stop Marvel from locking him up for Namor. When Vin was an early choice for Luthor, Marvel stepped in with Groot just to kill the DC talks, then signed him to the unannounced project, (IMO it's Black Bolt).

                            Could be Doomsday?

They're also talking Suicide Squad as a film... I could see the Rock as the leader Rick Flagg, working for Amanda Waller and keeping the likes of Captain Boomerang & Deadshot in line.

The Rock has such charisma, I hope he's not cast as some stoic character like John Stewart or a monosyllabic character like Doomsday. I like him as Luthor or Lobo, Captain Marvel and particularly Black Adam if you could find a Captain Marvel whom he wouldn't overshadow. He'd work as Cyborg, which is part of the new52 JLA, but really he's another laid back character. Maybe even as the barbarian Aquaman. Maybe Mongul or Metallo

But I'd rather this part is for be production other than The combined MOS sequel/JLA prequel.
