Seriously, Peter Parker fans should vote with their $$$ and pick up Marvel Knights Spider-Man. I had a chance to look at the original art, and it's terrific and wonderfully expressive. Marco Rudy's a heckuva nice guy as well.
^Sorry, but I think that art is terrible. It's all style and no substance, and is a perfect example of how too much artistic freedom is ruining comics today. You cannot tell what is going on in ANY of those pages, and since a comic artist's job is to tell a story visually...well, you see my point.
I have to agree. There is no sequential storytelling there. I cant tell if he really is a good artist. This trend is partly what has ruined comics. Its been going on since Mcfarlane was given so much creative freedom on Amazing Spiderman.
I wish this was looked down apon by editors. I would like them to go back to the basics to: Pencil, pen, paper. NO COMPUTERS!! This is why I rarely read newer comics.
I agree with voting with your $$$$$. If the fans had just stopped buying the books immediately, this "Spider-Ock" nonsense would have been over a long time ago! It's worked before; during the Clone Saga when Marvel announced that Ben Reilly was the really Spiderman and not Peter Parker...the fan OUT RAGE was so strong Marvel backed down and decided to make Reilly the clone.
Before the fan backlash though...Marvel had been Planning a to make Ben Reilly the real Spiderman with a whole new supporting cast built around him. Needless to say, the fans had a big impact and helped Marvel to change their minds.
Can't say I'm a fan of the new "ethereal" art style that many comics go with nowadays, as seen above. I'm not saying the artists aren't talented, but i don't feel it suits the medium well.

Me too. I picked up the first issue of MK Spidey and that was it because of the art. I found the art made it unreadable. That aside I would recommend the 700 point issues that have come out especially 700.1 and 700.2 for classic Spidey fans. Great art and a real showcase for the classic PP Spidey.
The arc has lasted about 15 issues too long allready. I do like a cross over with 2099, but again Peter belongs in the story line. Ill pick up another spidey book when Doc Ock is gone, not another issue till then.
Here we go.... just sent to Bleeding Cool... the cover to the All New Marvel NOW! March-April preview packages. Featuring an all-new Amazing Spider-Man
I will say this is an improvement over Ramos' 90s works, but I've never been a fan of his wonky style on "regular" super hero comics. It kind of works in Impulse, but beyond that, I've never been a fan.
