Plastino is often overlooked among Golden and Silver Age Superman artists, with most of the attention going to Curt Swan and Wayne Boring. Plastino tended to follow their lead in the decades when each were the primary Superman artist, but he did bring his own style to the feature, and drew some classic tales, including the first appearance of Supergirl and "Superman Under a Red Sun".
His artwork for "Superman's Mission for President Kennedy" is also fondly remembered, and unfortunately, the apparent theft and unlawful selling of the artwork created quite a problem for him in his dying days. Here's hoping this is resolved soon.
