I used to view Kevin Smith as a straight shooter but some things he's said in the last few years has changed my perspective on that.
Having said that, the dude loves Batman, so it's likely that he is being sincere.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

The idea there is no mention of RUBBER in his description has me excited beyond words. Add to that his assessment that we have never seen this on the big screen gives me a huge sigh of relief. MAYBE the day of molded rubber is FINALLY behind us and society can accept this character as he was original depicted (or in some form closely related). Exciting news.Comment

I posted in the other thread what is supposed to be getting used as the model. Its from Batman:NoelYou must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

He said Frank Miller, whose got some involvement in this.
So take Miller, cross it with Noel, remove the black rubber, according to Smith, and I think you got something that could work for Affleck's face.
His voice still stinks, but whatcanyado?
I always thought a synth would make sense for Batman, just to obscure Wayne's inflections.Comment

Agreed. But I think Kevin and I disagree on the ideal Batman. I'd also take his opinion with a huge grain of salt. He certainly has a horse in this race with Affleck, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But when Smith takes a stand, he tends to become the over-passionate cheerleader. At the end of the day, his Hollywood Babble-On podcast is damn entertaining, but it often listen with a certain filter.Comment

Smith has a near-psychotic love for Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Just listen to his Fatman on Batman podcasts related to the animated versions of this. While I still appreciate the work, I think it may have done more harm than good to Batman in the long run, and certainly was the first major work that portrayed Superman in a less-than-favorable light. So I REALLY hope there isn't TOO much taken from DKR for this film, since after all, it is a sequel to Man of Steel.
The idea of a Batman in comic book colors without rubber makes me giddy though. Let's try something new. As much as the Nolan-era suits worked, I was still hoping for a departure from that look at some point in the series, and we never got it.

To me, it's a triumph to get rid of the black rubber.
If the film does pick up after MOS, it would be hard to play Superman as a stooge of the government like in DKR, so I hope that aspect isn't there.
But I could definitely see a plot where a world weary Batman attempts to test Superman's limits and intentionsLast edited by madmarva; Nov 11, '13, 1:35 PM.Comment

I'd like to see Batman pulling out all stops and putting Superman through a gauntlet that concludes with him squaring off against Wonder Woman. After the dust settles, Batman reaches out an extended hand to Supes and says "You've passed the test. Welcome...to the Justice League." Roll credits.Think OUTSIDE the Box! I've often wondered why the rubber muscles couldn't be covered in grey material.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions
