A semi-local comic shop is still using 20 year old promotional comic bags

I enjoy digging through this old school comic shop nearby, and I get a kick out of the fact that they are still using bags that promote a comic book that was canceled over 20 years ago.

So I took a picture and wrote a blog post about it.

Pretty cool. Wish I had saved some of the old comic bags I had. I have a small stash of bags from various places that are no longer around.

but it’s located in the musty basement of what was once an old church, and you have to descend some questionable-looking concrete outdoor stairs to go inside
Captain Blue Hen's, right? I was down there once, back in the 90's. I should make a run sometime, he must have something good hidden away. What day is he open (and hours)?

Yep. I think they're only open Saturdays now, and I'm not even sure if it's every Saturday. Their next sale day is November 23. I'm pretty sure all the good stuff is either long picked out or way too expensive.

WOW...that is a flashback! I remember when this big change took place. I initially loved the "BWAHAHA" League, but felt that had just de-volved into endless yucks by this point, and was happy for a more serious take to return. Jurgens' run was quite good, but was unfortunately cut short by the Death of Superman event, although we did get the awesome "Destiny's Hand" story arc before he left the book, and JLA entered one of the worst periods in it's history.

But to still have these bags...that is something. I'm surprised the plastic is still holding up!

Way back when CBH had a store in Dover DE, where I was doing some fill-in work for a month or two for the company I worked for. They were selling back issue comics for $30 per long box. Kept me occupied at night! I visited the church store once too, probably around the time those bags were new!
