Heroes and villains that need cameos on Agents of Shield

They could really spruce up this series with appearances by any of the dozens of lesser Marvel Universe characters not big enough for feature films

If I could make the choices, I'd pick:

    Taskmaster
    Silver Sable
    The Jackal
    Vermin
    Deathlok
    Madame Web

I think DareDevil would make a great TV series. His power wouldn't be too tricky or expensive for TV. The fact that Matt Murdock is a lawyer could be used to great effect. Kingpin would be a great ongoing villain/supporting character. Elektra and Bullseye would too.
In season two, a Heroes for Hire backdoor pilot could spin PowerMan and IronFist into their own show.

I think at least once a year they should do episodes with 2 or 3 parts where either the Avengers or other Major Marvel Entities should be involved.

Hulk could easily appear as he is CGI.

          Hmmmm....

I'd like to see a completely new character.... but barring that, the return of "Elf with a gun" would be fun. Especially if they played it up seriously. Maybe like a horror movie.

Or the GLA/GLX. But I don't think that'd get by the censors.

Still want to see the members of Zodiac show up. Want to see how they handle Scorpio.

Saw this yesterday, a TVGuide.com reader asking one of the columnists why the series is so disappointing:

Question: I've been a Whedonite since Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love all of the TV that's followed and for the most part have enjoyed what Joss has brought to movies and even comic books as well. That said, I actually chose to watch an episode of Bones that's been sitting in my queue for weeks before watching an even older episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Joss is so creative, and I usually love everything he touches. So is there any behind the scenes buzz on what is happening to make what should be an easy win such a dud? To me it just feels so broad and common denominator. It feels like execs wanted something to appeal to everyone, even non sci-fi, non comic-book fans. That's all well and good, but often that means dumbing down the nuances that typically make these genres so interesting. When I watch, I just wish I was watching something else: something smarter, more clever. It feels so watered down and, well, boring. It's nice to know I'm not alone in my thinking, but I want so badly to love it because I always want success for all things Whedon. Any clues on if the tinkering of the powers that be is at play? Or is something else going on? Or is this just a case of not everything can be great all of the time? Thanks in advance for your insight. I always appreciate it, and the thoughtful way it's presented. — Shawn

Matt Roush: As wonderful as the Joss Whedon canon is, and my adoration of Buffy and its offshoots is second to none, S.H.I.E.L.D. is a very different animal, less special and distinctively original to be sure but also determined not to be relegated to the cult/niche shelf, for better or (creatively) worse. The blandness that has resulted many weeks could be a factor of too many corporate chiefs — Marvel, Disney and ABC — all aiming for the broadest possible audience and satisfying no single fan base in the process. As you also suggest, it may be that the show just isn't up to snuff yet when it comes to casting this shiny ensemble of so-far-generic characters and taking them to unexpected places. I still see glimmers here of a smarter, funnier, more exciting romp waiting to break out, and even Whedon (who's not as involved in the day-to-day here as he has been in more personal pet projects) would admit that some of his shows have taken a while to come together. I wouldn't lose hope yet, but it's also possible that S.H.I.E.L.D. has no greater ambition than being a slicker, more expensive version of the cheesy-to-corny action shows I happily grew up on in a less all-or-nothing era, shows like The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (see: those periods), Batman, The Wild Wild West, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, all very fondly remembered but not as innocently enjoyed now.

Don't understand why they aren't against Hydra or AIM to begin with. They could throw in Baron Strucker or Zodiac, Angar the Screamer, Purple Man, Grim Reaper, Absorbing Man, even supernatural characters like Man- Thing, Werewolf by Night or athe Zombie Simon Garth. Heroes like Shang Chi, Iron Fist, Misty Knight, even Moon Knight.
I think the problem is that Marvel is hesitant to use any character on TV if there is even the slightest chance they can swing a movie deal.

Unless they figure out how to bridge the gaps between TV and film, this series will not be renewed. They are going to have to let go of whatever pride they have and admit capes and cowls are sometimes going to be necessary to maintain any type of viewership. Not every episode needs it, but having characters like Falcon, Guardsman, Silver Sable, Constrictor, Paladin, Batroc, Shroud, Stilt-Man, Union Jack and whoever esle they have the rights to. By accepting that they will have to cater to the comic fan base instead of just casual viewers, they will be able to drive the Marvel Media Universe instead of being a passenger in the trunk of the films.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I tried to watch again tonight and lost interest pretty quickly. Personally I think for the mainstream to really get into the show they are going to have to bring in the big guns from the films. I know, the studios don't wanna do it, budgets etc... BUT the mainstream paid billions to see THOSE characters doing really SUPER stuff, not these yawner stories and characters. Maybe I'm too "kumbaya" but it makes sense to me to use the television avenue to be a better vehicle for the whole Marvel film Universe. It could even be a great way to test out and develop some of the others characters in the archives to prime them for the big screen.

Above all to me, it's missing something the storytelling that leaves you DYING for the next episode. That what makes "Arrow" so great IMO. Every episode seems to top the least, have some sort of reveal and makes it so you can't wait for the next one.

I think they should force the writers to watch The Venture Brothers episodes with OSI. They managed to mix together both GI Joe and SHIELD into one. Get a general idea on how to do it.

Can someone explain the plot of this last ep? I was trying to watch while working on something, and I missed some details. I got that there was a virus spread by the alien helmet, but the effect was that the victim had magnetism and electricity build up in their body until they exploded?

I was actually hoping the Victoria's Secret model slash genius lab doctor would be leaving us.
