X-Men: Days of Future Past official trailer

A bit pixely, but it's there:

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from "X-Men: First Class," in an epic battle that must change the past -

Hmmm...not sure what to think. Doesn't look bad, but I'm not sure how this is all going to work.

I haven't read the original comics - I know - where are Cyclops & Jean during all of this?

That was both good and unspecatcular. It's obviously going to be a dramatic, character-centric film, so it's great to see those aspects. However, we deserved to see some of the effects like, oh I don't know... SENTINELS! Just a two or three second shot of those dude in action would have set this thing off, but as-is I'm very excited about this. I thought First Class was the best film that Summer and I'm looking forward to seeing what Singer does to redeem himself with this one.

Steve, from the looks of it, it is very loosely based on the comics. Jean had recently died for the first time and Cyclops had left the team. I think the issues were x-men 141 and 142 near the end of Byrne's tenure as artist.

Magneto wasn't involved at all. Xavier wasn't a major player. He was petitioning Congress on the behalf of mutants.

^^^ Magneto was in the concentration camp in DOFP. He was in a wheelchair. This looks interesting, I hope it isn't too overloaded with characters like X3 was.

^^Tbolt, I had forgotten about Magneto being there in the future.

It's wild how much was in two issues. A story like this today would play out over 10 titles for 6 months

I agree with you guys about First Class. I like that they did an original story rather adapting something I had already read.

I'm looking forward to it, I was very pleasantly surprised by First Class. I love the concept of bringing both casts (more or less) together for a movie.

Looks very cool. I'm a bit confused at the continuity though. I know it's too early but, there are several things that don't mix with the past X Films. In one promo pic, young Xavier is standing and old Xavier is even alive. So is this this more of an adaptation from the comics rather than a blending of the two film casts? I also realize I will get actual answers until I'm watching the film. lol Gonna be fun.

                            This will explain Xavier's survival:

As for young Xavier standing, I guess we'll have to watch the film to find out.
