Marvel Universe Live coming next summer

There's not much here yet, but this looks to be the modern equivalent of the DC Seaworld and Looney Tunes shows of the 70s, but with a big budget, it would seem! I've taken in several of Feld's Disney shows with the kids, and they never fail to entertain. I'm stoked.

I've been following this for quite some time.

If they hold to the original vision, it's pretty big in scale. Cirque De Solei is involved. WWE owns a piece of this, too. A number of large-scale projection screens. Some Marvel experience stuff for kids where they can simulate the hero powers. It's crazy ambitious.

The original size was estimated at about two football fields, no joke, so that always made me wonder where they were going to host this thing. They never specified what kind of football field, so I'm guessing they're planning on using NFL/NBA stadiums.

That's if they haven't scaled things back. Always a possibility.

Out of everything they're doing, this is the real make or break to me. If it doesn't live up to expectations, we're going to see a very quick scale down of productions with the focus back on movies. Normally, this is the point where a company spreads themselves to thin, but Disney has such a built-in machine to take advantage of, it's hard to judge.

And that's what's so surprising about the live show; it's not a Disney production.
