Saw Neil Gaiman the other night

Neil Gaiman gave a talk the other night at Bucknell University on Tuesday night, and we went to see him. Had great seats in the second row, not 10 ft away from him. He talked about his writing style, but the main focus was on technology and its impact on writing. Not too much about his work in Comics, but when asked about Doctor Who he said he would Not be doing anything for the new season due to other projects he's involved in. He was very entertaining and interesting.
Sadly he did not stay to sign anything afterwards, the campus bookstore was selling only his newest book with a signed bookplate.

Cool! What kind of attitude does he have on writing and technology? I picture him more of a quill and parchment guy, but in reality he must use a computer, no?

No actually he talked about the progression of how he started using a manual typewriter, then electric, word processor, to computer...& finally to using a notebook and a fountain pen, the kind you manually fill with ink, as his preferred method of writing. In longhand, he said it gives him a sense of accomplishing something as he writes.

He must be on tour or something because he's doing something at Town Hall in New York too. Those "hear the authors talk" shows are hit or miss.
