    DC Villain 3-D covers

Did anyone have trouble getting these? I'm not collecting much DC stuff anymore, but these 3-D covers were kinda neat. The lenticular effect is good. I'm not big into gimmicks either, but they looked pretty cool, I think i'm going to frame them for display.

Sadly, my local guy has no clue about what he's doing, so he ordered as he normally would and then being allocated, there weren't any extras to be had as demand was huge and he didn't get enough.

Searching about, I did get a Joker & a Harley Quinn. The Joker's Daughter next week seems to be the rarest one, it's pulling upwards of $100 bucks on Ebay PRE-ORDER.

Does the Joker still have his Leatherface look? I seem to recall seeing a some "Forever Evil" promo art that looked more traditional.

I' ve downloaded a couple of them, but I've never chased comics as an investment. I tend to make decisions with my heart or taste, which is no way to invest. More power to those who like to, though. There's a hardback reprinting all the issues in December. I might get it, but probably not. The hologram covers aren't really a draw to me, although they are neat.

The Luthor, Zod and Relic (new GL villain) issues have been fun. I'll probably get the Riddler issue at some point because it's basically a regular issue of the title with a different logo.

My Nephew is still getting some DC titles and a few of these covers, well last week he left me a surprise with a note. "He didn't want me left out" and got me the Teen Titans Trigon 3D Cover. That's the only one i'll get.

I got a few...some of the stories aren't so hot...definitely fill-in issue feel to them. I've got Joker, Brainiac, Killer Frost, Darkseid, Riddler, Two-Face, Man-Bat, Bane, Secret Society so far. Black Manta and Ocean Master were sold out from my online comic shop.

Reading the FE story and my local guy seems to have a decent supply. No interest in the covers it just another dollar added for the same book and long term I don't seem them holding value. It's quick flip if you can find the right one that's it.

I wouldn't think they will hold such value long term, I just found it kind of crazy that people would shell out big bucks on a book that hasn't shipped yet featuring an unknown version of a character that hasn't fully appeared yet aside from a wee almost cameo appearance. And based on a throwaway character from the '70s.
The Joker was his "real" version, one of those ' is it his real origin or crazy memories he made up' type.

Yeah, she is the definition of "throwaway" character! DC literally tried to throw her away, retconning her out of existence multiple times, and she keeps coming back in one form or another.

^ I wonder if Bob Rozakis gets a "Created by..." credit for Joker's Daughter?

I doubt if current DC management is giving Rozakis credit for anything...

So he's the Forgotten Man rather than the Answer Man, lol. I loved the Answer Man feature as a kid.

the interesting thing is, subscription from DC the covers are 2d, but the stores all get 3d. I've gotten them all and like the stories actually

I got a bunch. I've been picking and choosing the ones I want. Harley, Joker, Riddler, Two Face, Ivy, Reverse Flash. I don't feel like I need all of these. The book that I liked best story wise is the Darksied one. I don't know if they ever did an origin story pre52 or not so this was new to me and I really liked it.

My LCS has managed to save all the 3D covers for me that I requested. But to be honest it is not worth the extra dollar.

Sure the covers are interesting but I find the 3D effect uneven and the stories add very little to the ongoing narrative in each series. The first few I have read did nothing for me and in fact hindered my enthusiasm for the rest. I find myself leafing through them rather than fully reading.

If DC does this again I probably will skip it altogther.

                              It IS the 90's again.
