Strange. I didn't get the urge to vomit watching this. Could be a good sign...I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.Comment

You know, I will always love the original RoboCop, especially with Peter Weller. The perfect look, movement, voice, mannerisms, and even charm.
But this new modern version does work for today's world...the new RoboCop is leaner, faster, a lot more agile, while still retaining that old school RoboCop look, so far I'm digging what I'm seeing.
I notice his right hand will be spared...that would give him a more instinctive and natural shooting grip.
Having said that, I have a bad feeling it's going to be PG-13, if it is, it will miss the whole point of the original bloody, graphic, violent feel of the R-rated flick.Last edited by Hector; Sep 6, '13, 12:28 AM.sigpicComment

Actually looks good. Love Sam Jackson's hair. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

Hmmmm....
Wathcing it again.... there are a few things that bother me:
-Including the wife, and the son. It negates the sense of isolation from the originals, and I have a horrible feeling that what saves him in the end is "I love my son...." allowing hm to override his programming, defeat the evil bad guy who secretly controlls him with a cleverly placed virus, and save the day.
-Likewise the "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!?!?" bit. It reinforces the idea that he's still Murphy, losing the internal conflict of "man or machine" which was so key to the original version. It puts everything up front right away; simplifying the story and making more room for scenes of generic gun fights.
-The explody-death is REAL impersonal, and takes away from the viceral feel of the original. It feels like they're cleaning it up. Same with the army of pseudo-robocops he fights. It feels wrong. Less "cyberpunk" and more "superhero."
-"Make him more tactical, 'cos EVERYTHING has to be black these days. It'll make him look more like Borgman, or Tekkaman, or 8-Man, or any of them other Japanese cartoons the kids love these days." He's even riding Borgman's motorcycle:
-I keep waiting for Nick Fury to save the day....
So I'm still REAL leary of this one. I'm betting it'll end up being a decent but forgettable action flick.
