Wait, I found my speech. So they couldn't get this guy to direct a JLA movie 6 months ago, that they've now scrapped, but now he is going to play Batman?

Just to be fair,I also posted this in the other thread:

The casting is still "WHAT?!?"...that's my honest reaction, so there it is. BUT, Affleck isn't a bad actor. He just chose a lot of bad roles for about 10 years. I haven't seen Argo, but I did see him in Hollywoodland, where he played George Reeves...and he was quite good. So there is hope. It's ultimately up to the script, direction and general feel of the film, which we honestly had no idea about.

But it's still an unconventional choice, and is going to elicit a lot of "HUH?" which is one thing WB wants for sure. Remember how people doubted Heath Ledger as the Joker? "That pretty boy?"

Nostalgiabuff, I believe, that the upcoming movie will be loosly based on Frank Millers Batman Returns. also, WB has stated that they wanted an older Batman, so, perhaps, Ben, is not an over all bad choice, however.... I really hope they have picked the correct actor for the part.

The thing with that. is in the Miller's Dark Knight, Bruce had aged while Clark had aged slowly because of him being Kryptonian and Bruce kinda hated that. Also they were at odds,Batman had become much darker, and Superman worked for the Government.

The older theory doesn't really jive, I prefer them being the same age......working for the same cause, The Dark knight story line is a future story......

The thing in Man of Steel though, Superman destroys a military Predator and warns the general that he's not going to tolerate any spying on him...the complete opposite of Miller's lame Superman.

It doesn't make any sense.

I hate Frank Miller, he elevated Batman to cult status, and made Superman into a complete imbecilic moron.
