But from his choices as an actor, I don't think he's tried to build a Cruise or Will Smith-type of reputation where his name alone sells a film.

He was great in The Fighter. He and Amy Adams made the movie, but Wahlburg was the star. However, Bale's supporting role was the best one in the film.

Warners can survive his loss but it probably won't be able to get as talented of an actor for the part or one that would bring as much box office for that particular role.

But again, Warners is going to have to recast Batman at some point. Why not now?

If they really want an old Batman, who is wearing armor like in Dark Knight Returns, why not bring back Micheal Keaton?
Because Keaton is a runt...Nicholson looks like a bloody bodybuilder next to him...

Keaton should've been cast as Olive Oyl instead...just look at those shoulders and upper arms of his...

They need an actor who can physically match with Henry Cavill.

Puny old man Michael Keaton ain't it.

People just hate and love him too much to not react first and think later

Tone can't be read on line bro, you have to follow it with a smile or lol so that people know you're joking or being sarcastic.

Bro, the idea of bringing back Keaton - to me- is so absurd such a thought could only be sarcastic.

              Or maybe it's not.

Is there an emoticon for indecision?

I was just talking to a friend of mine cross-country today and we were discussing this. Keaton is wrong tonally (regardless of if this isn't the canon Nolanverse it still resembles it)> His Bat-portrayal is too stoic for today's audiences. But if he were a "hot name property" in Hollywood still, my friend and I were thinking he'd be being discussed on a pretty large scale these days. I mean, apparently, news outlets are desperate to spin casting Bat-yarns anyway... and it appears age isn't too big a factor with the whole Dark Knight angle thingy going on.

They could. You could slap ANYONE in there. Folks are coming for the name alone. Hell; isn't one of the Jonas Brothers a "real" actor now? Batman isn't a difficult role. Cognitive dissonance will fill in the blanks for most of the audience.... even though 20 years from now they'll apparently hate your performance.

Seriously; I had to put up with a year of "OHMYGHODTHEBATMANMOVIEISSUPERAWESOMEAAAHHHH!!!!!! " back in the day, and NOW everybody hates that one?

I think it is just for publicity to offer him that much money. They know he won't take it.

It would be like me offering Led Zepplin $60 million to play in Philadelphia for one show ...
