^They have Bale. I think he'd go ape-crap and wipe the floor with all of these guys. Clooney would nod his head back and forth, Kilmer would be eating someone else's sandwich, and Keaton would look puzzled.

Meanwhile, Adam West would be hitting on their wives.

I'm not at all a fan of Superman Returns, but I like Brandon Routh, he's funny.

I'm not at all a fan of Superman Returns, but I like Brandon Routh, he's funny.

He seems to have a really good sense of humor, and has a healthy attitude about his short-lived time as Superman. I think he did a fine job with what he was given, but had a fairly thankless job, reinterpreting another actor's portrayal, and a script that made Superman seem less than heroic through much of the movie.

Singer and Wb didn't do Routh any favors after casting him. I think he'd have made a terrific Supes if given the opportunity to inject his own nuances into the role. He would have been a little bit George Reeves-ish with a slight whimsical factor. He had the dual role of playing both Chris Reeve and Superman in the same film. He deserved to have his own stamp on history like all the other actors who have donned the cape.
