I'm undecided. I found origins pretty silly and needless but this one looks better and isn't a prequel, so I'm leaning on 60% yes right now.

I want to see it, but I could probably pass until DVD, if it weren't for my son. To him, it's law we have to see each super hero movie in theaters. The one we skipped was X-Men: First Class, just due to a busy summer, and that turned out to be a great flick. Plus, he just read the original mini-series this is based on. So we'll probably see it in the next few weeks.

Ads I have seen do look pretty good, but I confess to showing symptoms of Comic Book Movie Fatigue Syndrome.

I got a little of that too yeah. On the plus side, it doesn't look like a city gets destroyed in this, which is one thing I'm absolutely bored of.

I have to say I like Hugh Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine. But I haven't seen anything in these trailers that has me terribly enthusiastic this time around. I think I've conditioned myself to look for the big spectacle in these films. And since this movie doesn't have anything that jumps out at me, it registers a little bland on that scale. I guess I've gotten a little too preoccupied with the creation of the DC Universe and those story lines to find any great interest in Wolverine's constant struggle to find his identity. I think that journey is getting a little redundant at this point. But if the reviews from fans come in pretty solid, I might slip in one Saturday afternoon and check it out.

One of the things most appealing to me last Summer was "Dredd" because it was a small story, he didn't save the world or even the city, he just did his job. Done well, that's a great movie, we've lost sight of that in the summer methinks...

I absolutely agree. When I saw that movie, I was surpised by how much I enjoyed it. And what you said pretty well sums it up. The director didn't get lost in showcasing the world and all of it's technology, so much as using that as a backdrop for a singular story about Dredd answering a call. That focus shored up time to examine the characters and give them greater emotional depth. That allowed me to connect with them and experience the human element in the midst of this vast futuristic society. I thought Dredd functioned pretty much like a Dirty Harry of the future. Same dynamics with his new partner. I liked it.

I saw Grown Ups 2 in the theater; no doubt I'll see Wolverine.

James Mangold is a fine director, the source material is one of my favorite comic arcs and its hard not to like Jackman as the character.

I do understand the super hero fatigue, though. The movie I really want to see is "The Way Way Back" but it's not playing in my little hamlet.

I was very diapointed with origins (and it was a story that I didn't "know" at the start of the film lime x1-3 having stopped reading xmen in the early 90's) and X3. so much so I skipped First class which turned out to be very good (not great but good) so I am cautiously optimistic about this but on the flip side i may wait for dvd.

ON a linked note it sounds Like Days of Futures past could be a home run as they have all the major cast back

pass, Origins burned me out on Wolverine and the Singer X-Verse in general. Too bad First Class is being followed by more of his mish mash.

I'll wait for the DVD. I found The Last Stand and Origins silly, but First Class was great. Looking forward to the sequel to that more than anything else
