    Batman/Superman No. 1

The new Batman/Superman comic's first issue is pretty good. It's the first meeting of the two characters in the new 52' along with a crossover with I believe a crossover with Earth2 before that dimension/world's Superman and Batman are killed.

It's written by Greg Pak with most of the art by Jae Lee, which looks beautiful but stylistically isn't a great match for super heroes. But I enjoyed the this portion of the story. The meeting between Clark Kent and Year One like Bruce Wayne was quite enjoyable.

A huge chunk of the DC charm prior to new 52 was the relationship dynamic between Supes and Bats. They truly knew eachother and totally trusted in their friendship as strange as it sometimes was. The history they shared played a large part in their successes. To read it all starting over would be depressing to me. I know Byrne did this before, and it was well done. DC really built a new era of World's Finest from that book. I just do not trust DC's ability to develop anything nearly as meaningful with their current roster of creators and editors. I think I own most of the DC SUperman/Batman trades started by Loeb, and those are all really good, and each story furthered their respective legacies. I'll just stick to reading those...
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I get you, Scott. But there's a scene with Bruce and Clark in the book that's really well done.

I don't know that I'll ever view the New 52 versions of the characters as fondly as the silver, bronze or post crisis versions of the characters, there is some good stuff.

But I understand that burned feeling

I don't think it's any accident this new series is a precursor to what is to come on film.

Could be. DC also has a Superman/Wonder Woman series beginning in the fall. Which really puts a lot of Superman on the table with 5 monthly series, not counting the digital weekly that's collected for print on a monthly basis, the Justice League, Supergirl and Superboy.

That's approaching or surpassing silver-age levels or the 90s when there was a superman book of some sort weekly.

I would think this is Warner Bros' way of test marketing these heroes to see what stories work well and which heroes sell well when coupled up with Superman. But once again, if you have to think that way after decades of back story, it's worrisome. We'll see...
