Daniel Day Lewis is the best actor on the planet, but he will never do that Lex Luthor role, he's very picky about his roles.
Lewis refuses to be in big budget action flicks, the studios wanted him to be just that after The Last of the Mohicans, and he told them no.
It is rumored that the role of Zod had both Viggo Mortensen and Daniel Day Lewis in contention, but Lewis would not commit, and Viggo was eventually replaced by Michael Shannon.
Peter Jackson kept asking Lewis to play Aragon in Lord of the Rings to no avail.sigpicComment

Now it's rumored that Mark Strong is up the role of Lex Luthor.sigpic

Man Of Steel 2 ..., could be the perfect Set up for the re-introduction of Green Lantern ..., With how Sci-Fi it was. IMO ..., They Should capitalize on this Oppertunity ..., if they Do what something like Justice League to come later.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
always trading for Hot Toys Figures .Comment

I really like the idea of Bruce Willis, i may even enjoy seeing a movie with Luther if he plays him. Michael Chiklis could be good as well.
All the other movies, TV shows , cartoons and Smallville just burned me out on seeing Lex. That was one of the things i liked about Man Of Steel - No Lex."Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of DoomComment

Having Kryptonians, thought extinct, show up all of a sudden on Earth, would certainly raise the eyebrows of the Lanterns enough for them to want to investigate. That would really work.Comment

Usually I'm a traditionalist, but I like the idea of the mega-wealthy industrialist Luthor. I think it's a cool update of the character that comments on current events. I know people are tired of Luthor because they want to see Supes tackle a physical superpower, but I was always more interested in Luthor because of how he forces us (and hopefully, especially, kids) to consider what 'power' means in reality.Comment
