Luthor - who would you cast?

Who would you cast as Luthor?

If there is a Man of Steel sequel, he's bound to be in it. Who's your Luthor?

    Also would he be:

    @ A revenge-seeking super villain

    @ A brilliant industrialist

    @ A mad scientist

    @ xenophobic demagogue

    @ a Combination

    @ or something else

I didn't come up with this, Kevin Smith (of all people!) said it in his Fatman on Batman podcast:

        Bruce Willis.

Just imagine...a Luthor who looks the part, has the charm a millionaire industrialist needs to effectively control a city...and could be seen throwing on a battle suit and smacking Superman around.

        It would work!

I like all those suggestions. Daniel Day Lewis could probably play anything, Zane has charisma and I could definitely see Willis in the role. "Up, Up and Away, m***** F*****."

I read Brad Pitt's name floated as a Richard Branson type Luthor. It'd be a stretch, but....

Christoph Waltz might not be a bad choice if he could work on the accent.

              That is brilliant casting.

On the opposite side of that coin: Bryan Cranston.

Love him but he's approaching overexposure.

Bruce Willis is an interesting idea but Bryan Cranston works for me.

Timothy Olyphant if he trades in his Stetson for the slick look.

                    Can Grant Morrison act?

Back in the day, Daniel Benzali was Luthor.

Rosenbaum is still hard to beat. He just killed that role.

I'd honestly bring Clancy Brown in for a look. Besides being the voice for years, a shaved head would make him Old Kurgan, and add this weird Highlander subtext where Luthor's "youth" is based in the Kurgan's philosophy.

Come to think about it, I guess that's Vandal Savage. Who's Ian McShane.

Wouldn't be surprised if WB wanted Jon Hamm as some weird mirror of Cavill. I was hoping it would be Meloni when they cast him. He's got that same Willis intensity.

Yeah, he's hard to top. He took some sometimes crappy material and really gave it a high polish. My son was watching the series finale again a few weeks back, and I commented how Rosenbaum owned that whole episodes even though he was maybe on screen for 5 minutes or so.

A few years back, I could have seen this for sure. Heck, Tim Daly would have made a decent Superman at one time.

Whoa, that's a head spinner. It could work though...

Totally off the subject, but Meloni would make a great Wildcat.
