Ultimate Spider-Man toon absolutely butchered Scorpion

I have a love /hate relationship with this show...it seems like they make three stinkers in a row then a truly great episode, then back to crap.
The latest episode featured the Scorpion, one of my favorite Spidey villains, and they screwed him up beyond recognition.

    (SPOILERS)

He is no longer Mac Gargan...in fact he doesn't even have a tail.
He is now a disgraced martial artist and the brother of Iron Fist. Yeah, that's right. And it gets better. His tail has been replaced by, get this...rope with a stinger on the end that he twirls around like a friggin' cowboy.

    What. The. Hell.

Interesting take on things. I haven't seen an episdoe I'd consider irrevocably bad.... but most of them hover around the "passable" point for me. A lot of stuff nowadays does that.

      >The latest episode featured the Scorpion, one of my favorite Spidey villains, and they screwed him up beyond recognition.

Yeah.... but they've been playing havok with the continuity since the beginning.

      >He is now a disgraced martial artist and the brother of Iron Fist.

THAT'S a big peeve of mine: how each permutation of any nerdly property ties more things in, and makes the universe that much smaller.

      >His tail has been replaced by, get this...rope with a stinger on the end that he twirls around like a friggin' cowboy

Hmmmm.... it's probably supposed to be some sort of manriki-gusari, if he's now a martial artist.

*sigh* it IS the 80's again, and we HAVE been innundated with ninjas as of late....

My son doesn't even care much for it. He says it goes way too goofy most of the time, and I would tend to agree.

Couldn't get past the first ep. They should have just continued "Spectacular Spider-Man" that was a great show.
