Been a lot of amazing interpretations in comics and film. Some stand stronger than others. I am happy Cavill's portrayal stands with the best of 'em!
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

Reeve was great as Superman. Always will be. It was an iconic, definitive performance.

And after one movie, Cavill is great as Superman, too.
He portrays the character exceptionally well, he has the physical presence and the required charisma, and I'm looking forward to how he continues to interpret the role in subsequent movies.
This is one modern super hero movie where they got the casting right.

I don't see how he could replace Reeve considering he barely had any dialogue and he punched Zod for 40 minutes allowing so many people to die. I'll wait for the next one. If they give him something more than an emo personality and he saves people I will give him higher praise.

Dont mind the actor to much, he just needed a better script.

Even though Moore played Bond after Connery, could you say he really replaced him? Its a differently interpretation. The same with Cavill playing Superman.

I think he's a good actor, just thought the script should have given him a little more charm or warmth. I think he's capable of being a great Superman.

Superman definitely needs to have a twinkle in the eye. I like when he can slightly break the 4th wall and give the audience a little wink. Chris Reeve could do that. I agree with Palitoy; the script and direction prevented Cavill from winning our hearts.

I like Cavill as Superman but he will never replace Christopher Reeve in my eyes.

Cavill looks much better in the traditional Superman uniform. The studio needs to go back to that.

                          He's missing the curl.

I think the curl is as iconic as the character itself.
But then so was the costume and they changed that so what do I know...lol
