Which Batman comic to read?

So my son is trying to figure out which of the current Batman series is the best one to start collecting. Any help would be appreciated. I think he said he is leaning towards Batman. What is everyones thoughts?

Batman has been largely unaffected by the new 52. To answer the question, you can't go wrong with either the main title or Detective.

My favorite Batman book right now is the digital first Legends of the Dark Knight. It debuts digitally each week, but is collected each month as a printed comic. Excellent art and writing and stories that aren't continuity driven. The digital first Adventures of Superman book is very good, too. I also like the injustice book that is a prolog to the video game.

For those who want books that have a pre-New 52 feel, the Superman and Batman books are them.
