Do any of you guys still read the funny papers? In your local paper, is there still any sort of adventure strip? The last time I saw one was The Phantom years ago in the Jefferson City Tribune, but I'm not sure if they still carry it. Unless I'm mistaken, Flash Gordon's been dead for the past ten years, as well.

Last I checked The Phantom was still in the Sunday paper.
The funnies havent been much fun since Spiderman and Calvin and Hobbes stopped. I pretty much stopped reading it once Shultz passed away.Comment

I remember when Russ Manning was doing the Star Wars strip, I wouldn't miss it. When you consider the level of draftsmanship some of these guys like Alex Raymond, Hal Foster, and Burne Hogarth displayed, I wonder if a solid adventure strip with that sort of talent could even get picked up by a syndicate today.Comment

Hmmmm....
We have a weird, 70's superheroish one here.
I find it interesting that the strip in the actual papers has declined, but the newspaper strip format is incredibly popular amongst online comics. Everything old is new again....
