What's your favorite $1 comic series from the 70s?

My favorite Dollar comic from the 70s was Adventure Comics after the implosion. It was the only place to get the JSA. Plus there was Flash, New Gods, Aquaman and Deadman.

But World's Finest, Superman Family and Batman Family were also fun and ran longer.

    What we're your's?

Yup,definitely Adventure Comics. Superman Family was a close second.

And don't forget The Unexpected, House of Mystery, GI Combatand Time Warp were also Dollar Comics.

I'm more partial to the 60 cent 100 pagers from DC in the 70's.

World's Finest was a regular $1 purchase for me.

Also I'd occasionally pick up Superman Family, Adventure Comics, Time Warp and Batman Family.

            Other favorites from the era...

I forgot that Detective Comics became a Dollar Comic when it was merged with Batman Family:

World's Finest was great, particularly the early issues with Neal Adams covers...but THIS is my favorite issue :

I submitted an image for the lettercolumn header as an art project in high school, and DC selected it and used it for a couple years. This issue had my name in it. As a "payment" DC gave me a year's free subscription...but NOT to Detective! They extended a JLA sub I already had.

I liked the back covers on Batman Family and Detective when the two titles melded. There were some cool pinups.

Tbolt, those 100 pagers were great, but just a little before my time. I did pick up a bunch of them as back issues. Loved the Golden age reprints.

Those look like some good reading. I may have read one or two of those but cant remember. You got me wanting to look for some of that Batman family.

I LOVED the Dollar Comics! I had tons of Detective, Superman Family and World's Finest. I was so saddened when Tec and WF slowly went back to regular sized comics (and WF never recovered). Superman Family I only really bought for the Mr and Mrs. Superman strip. The rest was kind of blah.

Anthony, World's Finest #271 is one of my favorite comics of all time. Roy Thomas at his geekiest, retconning stuff together like a madman!

I bought that comic at the newstand the first day I started my paper route! It was AMAZING! And Roy managed to make sense of it all!

I'm derailing this thread, but I loved that he worked the Superman radio show into Earth-Two continuity. Of course, then he negated much of it in All-Star Squadron, but what the hey.

This was a favorite of my son in the days before he could read (and even after). He'd ask me to read him this one over and over again.

Adventure Comics without a doubt. Couldn't get enough of the JSA back then.

Superman Family. I liked the Supergirl and Lois Lane stories.

                              Hmmmm....

They weren't quite a dollar; but I'd go with the old Warren mags.
