Has the Phantom ever been shown unmasked with his costume on?

Brain tickler for the early morning. It just dawned on me last night. We see him as Kit Walker out of costume, but I have NEVER seen him in mid transformation. Is there a rule that the Phantom can't be shown with his cowl and mask down? I covered every comic I have and the hard back series I've been collecting. Nothing. I wonder if this is a standard applied to the Phantom as it was the Lone Ranger. You never see him without his mask. Just a thought I found interesting. Chris? You might have to be the first artist to do this! History awaits!!

Quick, someone whip up a new Phantom action figure!

I honestly don't know. I'm not the Phantom scholar I'd like to be. I haven't seen it myself, but it doesn't mean it's not out there.

We were told, in researching our figure, it's never been done... I also know when we got approval for the In Cognito set, they were crystal clear about the figure remaining masked. The style guides also had absolutely no images of an unmasked Kit Walker... All that makes me think it's just not done in print... As for ever? There's the Zane movie, so never say never...

And in the serial, I think.

When I use to read the strip, they would show him either from the back or from a side angle so you couldn't see his face.

Pretty sure it's never done. When dressed as Kit Walker he wears dark glasses.

Incredible. In many ways that's even more stringent than what the Lone Ranger was for toys. Because the 10 inch Gabriel Lone Ranger had a removable mask. Really interesting! Thanks for that perspective Dave. That's a complete revelation for me. And to think all these years I read those comics and just never questioned it.

Kit's full face to my knowledge was never shown...BUT Kit with Sunglasses hat and overcoat was shown, that i have seen...

In the Phantom movie from the 90's that was accurately done......
