Timm steps down, Tucker takes charge of DC Toonverse

Doubt either of my hopes are in the plans.

Tucker was the key guy behind Brave and Bold, which i liked a lot, and I like the idea of original ideas rather than adaptations of stories I've already read.

But if it's true...Timm has been at this for over 20 years. I think he started on BTAS in 1990. So 23 years. That is practically unheard of.

I'd love to see him do some live-action projects. He's said he's always wanted to. Heck, I'd love to see him run DC.

Tucker is the obvious one to take over. He ran B&B on his own, and that show was as big a love-letter to DC lore as was ever written.

Yea, Tucker can certainly handle it. I kinda liked the idea of adaptations of some of the better comic storylines though. I think not doing them is a bad move.

That would probably be the smartest thing WB/DC could do.

If Timm doesn't take over DC,they should at least put Paul Dini in charge.

I like Tucker and think he will do well.

I don't think this bodes well for Timm, though. If he was directing the next Hollywood blockbuster, or running DC, or otherwise moving on to bigger and better things, I suspect they would have announced that first... and *then* announced that Tucker was filling his current role.

Timm directing the JLA or running DC was just wishful thinking on my part. Article says he's moving on to work on his own projects and indicated getting Dark Night Returns done properly was his final exclamation point. The new digitally animated Batman cartoon looks like his style, but I don't know if he is involved.

Like Chris said 23 years of working with the same characters and format is a long time for any creative person.

It was interesting in a q&a following the premiere of part II of dark Night Returns that was streamed live, Timm was asked about Superman Unbound, and said he didn't work on it. I thought that was strange that he didn't but just figured the workload was being divided. But, in hindsight, it looks like the move took place a while ago, maybe a year or so ago but with no fanfare.

So, he fully he is working on something cool.

Timm is still at Warner Bros, and apparently, will return to the DCU soon.

I remember reading someplace he had some personal projects that he wanted to attend to. I think that's great news for him, and us really. I will gladly watch or read whatever he comes up with. Tucker will do a great job in the meantime.

Timm's dream project has long been a Conan animated series. I doubt he's working on that, but I'd love to see it, or anything else he may come up with.

I trust Tucker to do the DCU right as well. I liked his LOSH toon, and of course LOVED B&B.

Yeah, Tucker rose in the ranks under Timm. There's not a more natural person to take over for Timm.

I read on Bleeding Cool over the weekend that when he returns from working on his personal projects, the plan is for him to produce a new justice League project to coincide with the possible film. This came from an un identified source, so who knows.

I'd like to see another Superman cartoon, by Tucker or Timm, maybe call it World's Finest and have Superman teamup with various characters with a tone similar to Brave and Bold. Or even a more serious version.

^Yes, I'd like to have another Superman show. World's Finest or DC Presents sounds good. I love Batman, but I'm honestly kind of sick of him hogging the spotlight.
