Finally saw Dark Knight Rises

I'm always late to the movies, good or bad. I read and heard a lot of hate and vitriol over this movie both here and where I work, so I had no idea what to expect.

I really liked this...quite a bit, actually.

Now, this is much closer to an Iron Man movie than it is Batman with all the cgi, tech and gear, but I was thoroughly intrigued by this. If you take classic Batman out of this and watch it for what it is, a sci-fi thriller, it becomes very enjoyable. It's not Oscar worthy, but I truly was entertained.

Yeah, it was pretty cool. I find that there's more to like than hate...though if you start to nit-pick, then you won't like it as much.

Based on what I'd heard, I had a vomit bucket next to me just in case. Turns out I didn't need it. Yeah, we could pick apart some parts of the film and some of them have been lam****ed on other sites, but I liked this. Bane's voice, however, was crap.

I honestly think a lot of the hate toward DKR was proportional to the love for DK. Folks WANTED to dislike this one, for some reason, so they nitpicked things to death that they ignored in the previous Nolan flicks.

I feel the same way about Iron Man 2, honestly. I like it, but many feel it's an unworthy sequel to the first. Not me.

I feel DKR was an appropriate ending to Nolan's take on Batman. The three movies really feel like 3 chapters of a sprawling novel. With creative turnaround rampant, you rarely get that in movies.

Yeah, I have never quite understood the "hatred" some lend to this series. All movies in this genre rely on some conceptual byproduct to breath life into them. And while I can understand why some don't prefer this approach, I don't understand why some take it so personally. It's like someone spat in their face. Of all heroes, Batman is probably tweaked more than any other. Look at his portrayal through the years? From serials to television, cartoons, and finally to film. If you lined them up side by side, almost none of them would look remotely related to one another. Batman has a very broad base to work from both in appearance and tone. And I imagine it will continue to be that way. What I like is that this trilogy TRULY has a beginning, a middle, and a END to the journey. It tries to work within the boundaries of it's concept. And I like that Bruce Wayne FINALLY got a happy ending. Batman is typically such a marose tale of never ending bitterness. It was refreshing to see him actually work it out and create a solution that not only puts his past to rest, but offers other orphans a chance for a future. For as dark as people say this series is, it actually ends on a very optimistic note. And I like that. From where I sit it gave the whole meaning of Batman a far greater scope. Being Batman doesn't have to be a life long death sentence. There can be resolve for Bruce Wayne, but Batman continues for Gotham. It was a nice thought. Although I think it does borrow a little on the premise of the Phantom.

Well, If U's go into Any Movie, with the Thought of, it's gonna Suck ..., It's Usally Better than what one percieves right off the Bat.

I shoulda erased every thought I ever Had of The Dark Knight..., and MY 30 yrs of Reading Batman Comics before Seeing this Movie.

I hated Everything About it, The Direction of Batman went a completely different Direction and thought Process from The Dark Knight and Begins. ... I think it's Obvious, that with the Death of Ledger ..., It Tained the Franchise, and THE Series was Completly Lost in the Process.

Remember what Rachel Told Bruce .... About The Batman not just being the Mask ..., But Bruce Himself ? ... Then in DKR ..., Anyone can Be Batman ? . Whatever. I think Not.

To me it was really more of a GCPD movie then it was a Batman movie. I didn't hate it but I think it's the weakest of the three.

Just saw it last night on HBO. Was okay. Biggest gripe was the fact that in the supposed 8 years span,not much had happened. In all of that time no one thought "Hey. No Batman around,I can do whatever I want."

I don't hate DKR but its one of those DVDs that will only get played a few times.

I didn't like it too much when I first saw it at the theater, but saw it yesterday on HBO again, and liked it much better.

I think this movie works best watching in the privacy of your home than in a public venue, odd, I know.

Hmmmm....

I didn't hate it, but I thought it was kinda blah. Not good, not bad.... killed some time. It threw me that it was ALMOST "Knightfall," and that they turned Bane into Baron Underbheit.... but both those things passed fairly quick. One thing that did dull the kick for me was that everything was WAY telegraphed. If someone made a backhanded statement or the camera panned over something innocuous you could rest assured that it would form the key to the next scene. Even the end felt that way.... so here's the Bat-Arc Reactor, and some person we've never heard of who's been getting a LOT of screen time.... I also don't like how the last decade of adaptions try to cram so much history into one place; like how Bane was connected to the League of Shadows, that Batman trained with.... It makes the world real small.

That's what I don't like about the Marvel universe. Everything seems to be woven around Stark Enterprises. Too neat.

I think they took too much from Batman Begins and tried to rework it into this.

Or Oscorp. It's become really bad the last decade or so. I'm not sure why.... well; I know it's done to "stremaline" a property, but I don't know why it's become so epidemic as of late.

I liked the first two, but finally saw this one tonight and didn't enjoy it much. To me it was a drawn out sloppy mess where they spend SO much time explaining a plot that ends up making no sense.

I'd be better with it if it had a few decent action scenes to keep me interested, but those were dry as dirt too. Yeesh.
