Id only cast voice actors. JL needs to be animated in the style of the online game cut shots and scenes. Too much baggage and preconceived opinions come with casting a film like this. If it has to be live action, my choice is ALL unknowns.

I'd be in line for a combo of Scott and BK' s ideas.Probably be the only way Kingdom Come could be adapted. I've been calling for a CGI version of it since Zemekis' Beowulf, even though it tanked. It and other CGI-animated box office duds is the reason why, it unfortunately won't happen.

I'd love to see a JL film by Timm and his crew, with CGI animation like GL Animated, but with a blockbuster budget. Round up the voice cast from JL, with Nathan Fillion as Hal, or heck the guy from GLA.

I Believe in using unknowns as much as possibe for Superhero movies. That way they are cheaper to start with and can be used longer on more team or solo movies.
But you will need and Anchor like Downey and a name like Johannson in Avengers for the JLA.
My thought would be to use Cavell and some not too expensive for Batman. My Nephew swears Thomas Gibson would make a great Batman.
The rest should be Unknowns or minor celebs who will appreciate a job for a few years.
Wonder Woman is going to be Key in getting right to sell this well.
"Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of Doom

Some recent info made me consider they're revamping Justice League because of Pacific Rim, which is going to own the summer.

Both are WB/Legendary productions, so they probably screened Pac Rim for the execs and realized they need to do something of that size for JLA. You could do Starro on that scale which would be different enough from Avengers and dismiss the Thanos/Darkseid comparisons.

If they don't do something with that kind of mass, then they will need to cast big names for each member.

...and I will be stunned if GL is not Jon Stewart.

While I would prefer Hal Jordan as the GL in the movie, it only makes sense to go with John Stewart. Had the Reynolds GL Movie done better, maybe not, but Stewart adds diversity and a former Marine really is more relevant in our society than a test pilot.

And while I understand the economics might not work, I would cast Will Smith. He would bring an audience, and he could bring intensity with some humor.

Starro would make an excellent villain. It's really DC's version of Invasian of the Body Snatchers. New Frontier basically was an updated version of the Starro story and could be updated from the late 50s to today very easily. It would also leave Darksied for a sequel. Amazo or even Brianiac wouldn't be bad choices, although Brianiac would probably be saved for a man of steel sequel.

Starro would also give a good reason for the heroes to square off against each other before uniting against the common foe. It also could be centered around the Ocean which would open the door for Aquaman to have things to do.

The use of Starro almost writes itself.

                    Re: Starro.

That's pretty close to how I felt.

If you haven't looked at any of the Pacific Rim stuff yet, check it out and think of a CG Starro on that scale.

I saw the PAC Rim trailer in front of Jack the Giant Slayer and it looked awesome to me, although a buddy of mine thought the action would be hard to watch with all the CGI.

But, yes, something like that would require a Justice League to take it down.

To me, PAC Rim has the feel of the movie to beat this summer

Pac Rim is the winner this summer, hands down.

It's going to set a whole new precedent for 3D Imax.

The best JLA storyline, IMO, would be to intertwine Darkseid, Brainiac, Despero and Starro. Prologue Darkseid like Ming in Flash Gordon and have his Klytus be Brainiac, who then assigns Despero the task of subjugating Earth since it has just entered the galactic realm because of GL and Superman. Despero unleashes Starro and you're off and running.

Superman - Cavil ( Unless the Movie Tanks ..., He seems to be in place)
                            Wonder Woman - Olivia Wilde
Batman - Karl Urban ( I will Push This Whenever , and However I can, Maybe Someone Will Frick'in Read it . )
Green Lantern - Ryan Reynolds ( I thought He was Great Myself, and Deserves a 2nd Shot)
Aquaman - Either the Guy Who Played Gannicus or Even the Guy Who Played Crixus on Spartacus. Aquaman Needs to be an *** Kick'in Bad *** Mother ****er. Either of these Guys Need to Be Picked up for Something Super Hero-ish Maybe Both ..., Give 1 of em Aquaman, and the Other 1 Hawkman . Hell Get Jason Momba in there for Someone ... I could see it.
Flash - has to be Quick ...., Smart A All the Way ..., Real Skinny. I really Dunno What Would Fit here. Bradley Copper is really All the Above.
ManHunter - ... Needs to Be someone with a Great Voice.
Decent choices. Dustin Clare (Gannicus) is an inspired choice as Aquaman, as he has the gravitas of a leader (see the last couple of Spartacus seasons), and the cockiness/bravado of Aquaman in the Brave and the Bold cartoon.

I second getting Karl Urban as Batman, although with him tied to the Star Trek franchise as McCoy, he might be a tough get. Urban is the go-to actor for this. Sam Worthington might be worth a shot, too.

Ryan Reynolds would've been perfect for the Flash, but since he was Green Lantern and that flick tanked... notsomuch.

As for Wonder Woman, I'd go with Gina Carano. She looks like and has a warrior's build like Wonder Woman, she obviously knows how to fight, she can act, and she's dating Henry Cavil! IT'S SO META!

Green Lantern should be John Stewart. Stewart's a great GL and I'd use someone like Peter Mensah from Spartacus. He's played a soldier before (Jason X) and knows how to fight as well. Plus, he's worked with Dustin Clare before, so...

I also agree with getting Phil Morris back as Martian Manhunter. It's perfect casting IMHO.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
