    Dark Knight Returns Part 2

just got it and watched it.....wow.....this is the greatest animated superhero movie ever, hands down. Part 1 was a little slow as it was setting up the story but man the action was non-stop in part 2very violent and bloody so maybe not for younger kids. still not crazy abut Mike Emmerson as Joker but whatever, it worked. a few changes frmo the book but nothing major.

I thought that was due out today, but as usual our local Wal-Mart takes their dear sweet time in putting out new movies. The New Arrivals end cap was totally empty at 7:30 this morning.

It's very good, very violent. I haven red the mini series fully since it came out, so I'm not the one to say how closely it stuck to the original work.

I like the showdown with Joker, better than the one with Superman. But Superman's activities against the Soviets in Corto Maltese looks great animated.

The film got me to thinking that if DC should tell the story from Superman's point of view. Fill us in on the 10 years between the heroes retirement, how Superman went from being a great hero to the president's flunky and why, the showdown with Green Arrow and how he lost his arm, what happened to Lois, Jimmy and Perry. More action like the Corto Maltese fight. And what he ended up doing following Bruce's funeral.

The preview for Superman Unbound looked really sharp. Stana Katic, of Castle fame, would be an excellent live- action Lois Lane. She's doing Lois' voice. The story is a "loose" adaption of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank' Brainiac story. Really Looking forward to it.

I really enjoyed the DVD too. Lots of fun action scenes.

"And what he ended up doing following Bruce's funeral."

Superman, along with others, is in the follow up mini series The Dark Knight Strikes Again.

SHH...!!! Didn't you get the memo? We are never to speak of that travesty again. I think federal law states any copies must be burned and all memories mind-wiped. Or at least, it SHOULD state that.

Yeah, I tried to read the first issue of the follow up and lost interest. Sort of forgot about it since, but thanks for the reminder.

come on, it wasn't that bad. not great maybe, but not totally horrible. from what I remember anyway. I recall thinking it was cool that the story continued on as pre-crisis storyline

^Oh yes, it was that bad and more. I'm still convinced Miller laughed all the way to the bank, and intentionally screwed over DC's characters in the DK sequel and All-Star Batman, while DC paid him a boat-load of cash.
