I just wish movie makers didn't feel the need to always change things

The Chris Reeve movies had a similiar feel as the TV series - that's why people liked it.

I never could understand why they all don't get it

Earth to Chris there Bro ....
Dc Movies are a Radical Departure from The Core Basis of the Character as Well.
I know, but as I said in my previous post, it's a 3 hour movie, versus a publishing initiative with no end in sight.

For the same reason we didn't get a comic accurate Green Goblin.
The film companies want to try and make it seem more realistic,or what they feel is a more realistic look to them.
It sucks and I hate it.
Didn't like the look of the Lizard in the last Spiderman film and dont like the look of this costume either.

The Look of the Lizard, Was 1000 Times Better than this Pile.
I rank this ..., as Bad as the Green Goblin and Thing.

" A Publishing Initiative, with no End in sight" ....

Ya, Well you Could say the Same With Warner and a Credible Frick'in DC Movie too.

The Movie is Far worse of the 2 Evils..., And Here's The Main Reason Why ..., So Focus here ...
A Movie and HollyWood Has FAR MORE Exposure to The Vast World of Viewing than a Comicbook Will Ever Have ...., Thus Millions , and Millions of People are gonna Welcome Garbage with Open Arms that Don't Know Better.

So ya ..., Lets just Posion a Larger Population with a Bigger Pile of Sugar Coated Bull ****, And Rubber WetSuits with Capes, because it's only 3 Hours.

You can Avoid a 23 Page Monthly Comicbook Pretty Easy ....
We are About to see this Crappy Suit on Everything, and Clogging Toy Isles for Years to Come, and your Not gonna be able to Avoid it.

Unless its actually a good movie, BK. I can live with the costume if the story is good and the film well done and acted.

What was wrong with the Thing? He looked awesome...just like the early Kirby stuff.

Yeah, I honestly don't understand why people froth at the mouth over the material so much. If it's a good film that services the character well, I'm in.

I'll admit, I used to get bent out of shape over this type of stuff. But like Captain America, and many of the Bat-films, I found myself enjoying the movie despite my initial dislike of some elements.

The problem is all indications from looking at the minimal amount of footage in the trailer and seeing this statue makes it appear that this is nowhere near the Superman of the last 70 years. If all we have to go on now is this suit, then of course people are going to doubt the validity of Nolan and Snyder. All evidence leads to those two making a dark, cathartic Clark Kent emo journey full of despair, regret and shame. Superman with a beard, underwater, working on a fishing boat, feeling guilty and confused for saving a school bus full of children is nowhere near close to the character all of us have read. The suit, as divisive as it is, serves as full notice that they are changing the game. What they refuse to realize is all they had to do was just play the game better.

This film may end up being my favorite of the year and perhaps my favorite comic book movie ever. I sincerely hope it is. The radical changes we've seen in just a short amount of time lead me to believe otherwise. The creators had to know how disruptive the suit would be once revealed. Nolan is just so arrogant he doesn't care.

Like you, Jason, I haven't touched a new DC book in well over a year. Just can't do it. I may pick up the Third Army Gl trade at some point cause I still like the artist and it may be somewhat good. I've pretty much got all the other GL trades. Now, this is blasphemy for me, but I am digging the Shazam design. I haven't read any of it, but might pick up the collected story if they do that. Aside from that I will stay away I think. I keep hoping this was a huge practical joke and that the conclusion of the Superman trial would revert some of this nonsense. I know it won't happen, but I still hold out a tiny bit of hope.

Hey Scott, according to quotes from Snyder, he actually wanted to use the traditional Superman costume. Cavill actually tested in a Reeve-like costume, but Warner Brothers absolutely wouldn't allow Snyder to useit, according to quotes from Snyder. He didn't say, but I do believe the lawsuit has a whole lot to do with the modifications for the film and the New 52

But, the darkness does seem to be there. There should be danger in a Superman film or story, but not darkness and gloom, imo.

While I have no idea if DC will ever bring back the traditional incarnations for the characters, I read something this week that gives me some hope.

The lame character Vibe is being brought back for the new JLA book and his powers evidently allow him to travel into alternate dimensions. So maybe the old DC Continuity will end up in another dimension.
