It's not a bad update. Not a whole lot different than the Hector Hall update of 10 years ago or so.

Yeah, they just darkened the blue and made the yellow gold (and gave him some cool armor to boot). They modernized it, without making it totally different.

I can dig it BECAUSE it's not a radical departure from what came before, but rather a modification and modernization of a classic look...

Hmm...hard to tell. I think it might be midnight blue.

I think it's pretty cool looking. Elements of ancient Egypt and Hellenic overtures. Might make a good costume for a movie. Why not a dr fate movie? They could take the Mummy style approach or even an Indiana jones style movie. You know, save the world from some ancient evil or another by becoming dr fate! SO Fate Demands!

That's the best redesign I've seen so far. It does scream Hector Hall, but in a moder way. Not too sure about those Witchblade gloves. Details without purpose are wasteful.

It's kinda got an Egyptian vibe going for it that works. For Dr. fate the additional ornamentation that's kind of a gaudy touchstone for New 52 design actually works.
