The Return Of Dr Fate to DC Comics

Dr Fate is about to make his New 52 Appearance in Earth 2 Issue 9. I am both egarly awaiting his return, as well as scared they will mess him up. no pics have yet leaked, just wording in the new Previews.

My guess is they'll go with a female Fate like in the early 90s.

I think he'll be a sentient hamster who lives in the helmet, but he'll be in love with a St. Bernard. The helmet will of course ride on the back of the St. Benard, but fall off a lot.

I just want DC to wake up and have one of the 52 Earths be the old DC (before the reboot) so we can have the new DC (Like Marvel Ultimate) along with the classic style. I thought for sure DC was leading us to that. In fact, I'm still hoping that they are going to surprise us with that.

Has anyone seen Roy Harper (Arsenal) lately? He looks like some guy that used to play in a band with me. What are they doing? Plus the whole Tim Drake was never Robin thing has really bothered me something fierce and the disappearance of Wally West and Donna Troy is more then annoying.
Tim Drake with the ability to fly is really stupid also. If that was the case, then why hasn't Batman picked up a set of those? ....and Wondergirl (Cassie) once again they screwed up a perfect Wondergirl.
Lets not forget Superboy. I don't even want to know what the hell they have done to him. He's out of his mind and is like some kind of cloned android with all this strangeness to his character.

Part of me is REALLY surprised they haven't done that.... or at least set it up in some way. (That way you could reprint ALL the old stuff as NEW! It's brilliant marketing!) Part of me isn't; since the whole point of a remake/redo/re-edit is to make the character hip (the kids still say hip, right?) without the risk of doing something ACTUALLY new. I would rather see something ACTUALLY new; not a half-hearted marketing driven remix. ("I know! RAPPING BATMAN!" Wait.... we've had the Bat-Dance, the Bat-tusi.... we're about due.... Forget I said anything !!! FOR THE LOVE OF KIRBY FORGET I SAID ANYTHING!!!!!)

But that's the price of doing business. Dc's been hipping up their characters for a LONG time. The gogo checks period was them trying to make stuff that'd appeal to the kids.... with wacky results we can laugh at/reminisce over/enjoy unironically 'cos there's enough time between them and now to take the edge off. The "52" stuff seems horrifying 'cos you're in the middle of it; watching it happen but helpless to do anything. Fear not! This too shall pass, and one day we'll look back and laugh about it; like we do with the 90's. (*pffft!* Shoulder pads and pouches! HAW!)
