Joseph Gordon Levitt as Batman in new JLA movie. I just hope he's Bruce Wayne not John Blake.

    I'd think he'd make a better Robin.

Nightwing, for sure. He's too old for Robin and too small for Batman, IMO. I just don't want an off version of Batman for the JLA

All I see are rumors and Levitt would consider playing Batman, no confirmation. No need to panic yet.

The link didn't work for me, but I wouldn't put a lot of stock in this. I could be wrong, but Levitt is now a frequent collaborator with Nolan. I wouldn't think Nolan would want some unknown director and creative team mucking around in the fringes of his closed trilogy. Bale always said he wouldn't play Batman without Nolan, and I'd imagine his other actors would say the same.

And maybe Bruce Willis could be old Bruce Wayne in DKR?

I'm hoping for a complete departure from Nolan.

I dont like the realism of his films myself but if it was up to me it would be almost like a bronze age story.

I wasnt aware Nolan was the producer of The Man of Steel, does this include JLA as well?

Me too, not that I didn't enjoy the films but they exhausted the comic book out of them to a point that would make the Justice League a little boring.

I agree that the next set of Batman movies needs to go in another direction. Not camp, but perhaps a bit more...fun.

That's kind of what they did with BTAS and it seemed to me to be the most accurate take on the character. Of course, this is just my opinion. While the Nolan films had a bit of Bruce's wryness when talking with Alfred, the stories and scope of the movies felt more like 007 films than a masked street-level vigilante.

Also, I'd like to see them just carry on with the character with no origin reboot. It's unnecessary. When Gordon Scott took over for Lex Barker as Tarzan, they didn't need to explain who this guy in the loincloth was and why he was motivated. Just tell a solid, fresh story.

I think that was due to Christopher Nolan's insistence that everything be SO grounded in reality. Comic books, by their very nature, are anti-reality. A man dressing up as a giant bat and fighting crime is anti-reality. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Nolan's particular look at his version of the Batverse, but, like when a comic book's creative team changes and takes the book in a different direction, the same thing must happen to the Bat Franchise. I would like to see them get rid of all the rubber suits (who's to say he's not wearing armor underneath his suit?) and go back to either the gray and blues or, at the very least, black and grays. Let's get Batman back into being a "creature of the night" as opposed to James Bond or (insert favorite cop/detective here) in a bat cowl...! Bring me a Neal Adams-esque to the big screen and I'll be a happy camper!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
