Comic movies/TV shows that aren't on DVD

So, what comic-related movies and/or TV series either aren't on DVD, or aren't complete in that format?

Okay let's start with the obvious one...

    1. Batman (1966). Probably the most popular TV series NEVER released on DVD. Criminal.

    2. The New Adventures of Superman (Filmation). There are Superman shorts yet to see DVD, and the Superboy segments have been skipped completely.

    3. The Adventures of Batman and Robin (Filmation). This one is a head-scratcher. Why haven't these made it out yet?

    4. Marvel Super Heroes. We've heard they were coming several times, including this past summer to go along with the release of The Avengers. I know they are limited animation and hokey, but I love 'em.

    5. Fantastic Four (HB series). This one isn't out either. I think HB still has the rights to this one, not Disney. Still shows on Boomerang from time to time.

    6. Super Friends. Most of the series is out there, but we're still missing my personal favorite season "The World's Greatest Super Friends" from 1979. This is the season with the literary theme, LOTR, Frankenstein, Oz...and "Universe of Evil", the best damn SF episode ever (at least pre-Super Powers).

    7. The Amazing Spider-Man (live action series). Where is this series? 4 big screen Spidey movies and this never made it to DVD?

    8. Dr. Strange. This TV movie is pretty obscure. I don't think it has much of a chance of making it to DVD.

    9. Shazam (Filmation animated). This should have been included with the live-action series.

    10. Spider-Man (solo 80s toon). This is a forgotten series in many ways. Produced before "Amazing Friends" it featured many of the same designs, music, and even plots. But it's less goofy, and I really loved it as a kid.

    11. Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. I think this got released in a different region format, but it hasn't gotten an official release here.

    12. The Incredible Hulk (80s animated). Surprised this one isn't out either.

    13. Superboy (live-action). All we got was season 1. There was talk of the other seasons coming out through Warner Archives. Let's hope so. Seasons 2-4 are vastly better than the first season.

    14. Hulk (90s animated). I know they put at least one DVD of this series out, but I think that's it. Not complete.

    15. Generation X (TV movie). I recall this being pretty bad, but I'm surprised someone hasn't pushed it on to DVD during some X-Men movie hype.

    16. Silver Surfer (90s animated). This one is largely forgotten. Seems like it came and went really quickly.

    17. Avengers (90s animated). This one was pretty bad, but another Marvel toon locked in the Disney vaults.

    18. Static Shock. I think WB put out a 4-episode collection, but no series, or even a DVD with all of the DC crosovers.

    19. Legion of Super Heroes. The first season got released over 3 DVDs that were later bundled, but there has been no season 2.

Whew! That was just off the top of my head. I'm sure I missed some. Fill in the blanks!

Anything "Superboy" was probably held up due to the ongoing lawsuits and forgotten about...

though not out in official release - i believe i have everything you listed in high quality (well me spidey is not so great) on fan made dvd.

some of this perplexes me as to why it doesn't get released -Batman where there is money to be made. others that are considered embarassments by todays standard -spider-man live. (don't get me wrong i love spider-man)

        12.
These are all available legally from the UK and all in really good to great quality....the only exception being the pre Amazing Friends Spidey cartoon which is actually under a different title:

Marvel Super Heroes. Only problem is that the individual 39 episodes are actually put together as 13 episodes. I think the Hulk was the only one to break them down with full lead ins to the episodes. Great quality.

Spider-Man (solo 80s toon). Known as Spiderman 5000 for some reason in the UK. Might have to dig up your old Marvel Library VHS cassettes. Probably better quality then what came out.

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Very good quality.

The Incredible Hulk (80s animated). Good to great quality.

Hulk (90s animated). A very good series. It's a shame it didn't go past 2 seasons.

Silver Surfer (90s animated). One of my favorite from the 90's cartoons. It's a shame that they never finished the series. The last episode was supposed to be at least a 2 parter if not a 3 parter. It's Kirby meets Moebius animation style.

Avengers (90s animated). I equate this series to Teen Titans Go. Story wise the show was great...it's just the animation that was hard to get by.

Generation X (TV movie). Available in the UK as a legal VHS....but never released on DVD.

Spider Woman 70's animated also available legally in the UK as is the 70's Fantastic Four series.

Here are some of the TV series I can think of that are comic related but not on DVD:

        1) Jon Sable Freelance. I have them on VHS...but the quality is about a 6/7

        2) Ultraforce Animated Series

        3) Wildcats Animated Series (I know it's Image...but it was a halfway decent animated series)

        4) Savage Dragon (Again, it's Image...but it was a halfway decent animated series)

        5) Gen 13 Movie (one last time it's Image...but it was a really good movie) I think this was also legally distributed in the UK on VHS.

        6) Aquaman TV Pilot with Hartley as Aquaman. If you didn't buy the Smallville Box sets with the free DVD in them you didn't get the Pilot. Don't know if the free promo DVD was limited or not.

        7) Thing animated series (Complete "CHEESE" but for the completists...it's not available)

        8) Plasticman Animated series (Is it avaialble??)

        9) Conan animated series (I think some of the episodes are available on DVD in the UK)

        10) Conan Live Action Series

        11) Diabolik (Love this Italian Comic Book series. Avaialble in Italy on DVD...the only language on the disc that's not available is English...not even subtitles)

        12) Green Hornet Live action series

I know there are more of them just have to go back into the archives
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
        The beauty that surrounds them
        Isn't it a pity".

I remember this from a while back...now this is a Plastic Man series I would have watched if they ever went through with more than an unaired pilot:

"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see

The Silver Surfer series is currently on Netflix. I used to have a trio of the animated Shazam VHS tapes, but they disappeared years ago.

How about the animated Lone Ranger series, both the 1960s and the 70s? Filmation Zorro?

I agree with the whole list.

Do Filmation Isis, Super 7, Jana of the Jungle, and Tarzan have DVD releases?
The Spiderman cartoonis just before Spiderman and his Amazing friends ? (1980ish)

I dont think so. Was there another one besides the one with Baby Plas from the late '70s?

The New Adventures of Superman (Filmation). There are Superman shorts yet to see DVD, and the Superboy segments have been skipped completely.
Theres more than the 16 episodes?

Its a head stratcher that Worlds Greatest Superfriends hasnt been put on DVD yet.

I want Filmations Popeye and Mighty Mouse also.

The five episodes of "The Freedom Force" were released on DVD. And the live-action "Secrets of Isis" was released as a set several years ago.

Here is part 1 of one of the episodes from you tube:

"When not too many people can see we're all the same

Super 7 will never see the light of day.

Superbly has been moved to warner archive, no announcement yet but they were all "wink wink” when I asked them via twitter. Plus they held a screening of episodes hosted by Ron Ely recently.

Does anyone know if the Batgirl Pilot promo from the 60's is all that exists?? Or was a whole pilot actually shot for broadcast? That would be a great piece to add to a Batman box set if Warner/DC ever decides to put out Batman on DVD.

Are the Dick Tracy cartoons that are out on DVD edited to be politically correct? Or are they FULL episodes?

Nightman TV series from Malibu/Marvel is also not available on DVD as is The Crow TV series. The Flash Gordon TV series from Sci-Fi channel is also not on DVD.
