I haven't collected or read comics in more than 25 yrs, so I don't know if this is commonly known or discussed in the community - comics from the '80s and '90s bundled into packages and sold in discount stores? I first noticed it a few yrs ago in a local dollar store and was mystified.. then noticed it several more times here and there over the yrs.
The most recent sighting was at Marshalls where they have 10 comics bundled for $5.99.. from what I could tell from the bindings, age ranges were 1987 thru 1997.. and major titles like X-men, Spiderman, Supes, New Mutants, etc..
Do the comic companies really have vast amounts of OLD stock hanging around, and this is how they ultimately distribute it?
