tdb's take the fun out of collecting, you can always find silver age books at a good price. Of course you may pay a little more for some of the key books, but for the price they want for these modern books, might as well pick up some quality silver/bronze age books.

That's why I pick up the paperback Masterworks. COLOR. The Essentials do nothing for me.

The essentials books are especially great if it's a series you're casually interested in. I wouldn't have bought hard bound treasuries of Iron Man or the Avengers but at under $20, it was an easy purchase in B/W.
