No more GL or Young Justice until January

The geniuses at Cartoon Network have done it again. After showing 1 new episode of each series last week, CN pulled the plug on DC Nation until January. In it's place, Dreamworks' Dragons: Riders of Berk.

After taking DC Nation off the schedule at the last minute effective this weekend, details available at The World's Finest, Cartoon Network has announced new installments of the programming block will return starting January 2013.

It's hard to believe any network could possibly do a worse job of scheduling and promoting. I think every public access channel in the US has a better team on it's payroll.

I wondered why the guide said GL but they were showing Dragons. I like it, it's pretty funny, but not when I'm in the mood for something else. And actually, GL had two episodes shown. I don't know if that's different than YJ's airing, however. Either way, I'm still disappointed.

Yeah, they showed new ones the last two weeks. But to pull the episodes after only two weeks...

WB wonders why they can't get any traction with their DC properties in Hollywood. Their own network undermines these properties at every chance, it seems.

Yeah, it's like they're thinking: "They've already waited this long for Season 2, they can wait 3 more months." I honestly don't get it.

All they talked about on thier Facebook page is how DC Nation returns, but not really. I hope Teen Titans Go! comes faster, I can't stand to watch GL or YJ,I just fast forward to the shorts, there the best part!
<>_<> I will always be watching you, always.

It's this type of "creative" scheduling that caused "Batman:The Brave and the Bold" to lose momentum...

I'm trying to figure out how Cartoon Network has managed to survive for 20 years.

It had to be a scheduling error. The episode was released in other countries because it is on youtube. I think people just overracted and editied the wiki page which now every site is relaying from. so fingers crossed it was just a mistake

^It's not a mistake. CN issued a statement.

Fear not, DC NATION fans! Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice will return in January with new episodes, only on Cartoon Network!
Well it is a mistake to pull the plug on two shows that just started new seasons (more or less) and hold them back just to show more "Dragons" shows, as if they aren't trying to ram it down our throats enough as it is.

The serialized nature of these shows (especially Young Justice) make it even worse.

I haven't seem one YJ episode since the "skip-ahead". It never seems to come on at the same time or day so I miss it.

Up until now, new episodes have aired Saturday morning at 10:30 (after GL)...that is IF Cartoon Network aired them. While they will rerun the same Johnny Test 150 times over, they seem to pull their DC shows every time they would be showing reruns.

It's like someone at CN has a grudge against DC.

I'm betting it's the shows themselves. Station execs HATE serialized shows; they want something you can run in any order, and only care about new episodes until you hit the magical number needed for syndication. That's why a lot of popular shows seem to get cancelled around the second/third season. Once they hit.... I THINK it's 52 episodes.... it's over 'cos the station can rerun them ad nauseum.

Shown in other countries, I'm assuming. Like when EMH took a 2 - 3 hiatus mid-season but they were still being shown in Australia.

Edit: It's been released on itunes.
