I'm not a big Zombie guy either. The only Zombie story I've got is the crossover with Ultimate FF. And I've got to give thumbs-up to that one with the ending - Dr. Doom winds up on the Zombie planet. He's standing there, surrounded by zombies, and all he thinks is that he was in for a challenge. No despair, no panic, just looking forward to the fight he had ahead of him. Great scene.

I've pretty much beat this horse to death in other threads here, but the merchandising disturbs me. As someone who has tried to explain why Spider-Man and MJ are rotting corpses to a 5-year old, let me tell you, it's no fun. My son saw that statue in a case at a comic shop, right under the register I was paying at. No way to avoid it.

As a one-off comic, it's a disturbing "What If?", an there have been others as nearly as dark. As a marketing campaign, it shows Marvel will sell out their characters for the all-mighty dollar, and forget their bread-n-butter that keeps the company solvent: The kids that buy the toys and watch the toons and movies.

ok, so im not really into comics anymore..but the whole zombies thing, really disturbs me...there just seems to be a lot of it and i really wouldnt want a decaying, bloody, flesh eating toy/statue/bust on my shelf for my kids to ask why does daddy have that?, sort of thing....i agree with a lot of what has been said on this post...i wouldnt want my 5 year old seeing these or even playing with them...or even my 9 or 12 old as well...kinda gross...luckily my boys dont like zombies..so at least they wont be coming to my house...

I've never understood why people were into zombies in the first place. Marvel Zombies, other than being a cute play on the old nickname for diehard fans, is just plain terrible. I can't understand why this is apparently so popular.

              Count me out.

I absolutely hate the Marvel Zombie stuff. I hated it before I read it (yes, I bought the graphic novel on eBay, just to see if I was wrong) and hated it even more afterwards. It doesn't seem to have any redeeming value whatsoever, at least to me.

I've never been a big fan of genre at all, but I have to say I really like Marvel Zombies. It's quite a funny way of depicting the characters. It shouldn't be readily available to kids though. They should have a seperate section for all the more adult orientated titles like all the zombie stuff, The Boys, 100 Bullets etc.

I've got nothing against zombies. Some of my best friends and co-workers even have been zombies. I've woken up a time or two as a zombie.

I have the issues of Ultimate Fantastic Four where Reed Richards opens the doorway to the zombie dimension. It was different. A Zombie Spider-Man is a little different from an Earth-3 Ultraman or Owlman. But not by much. I think the DC icons were trying to find their way back from the dark side in Kingdom Come. The world had become darker and the heroes had lost their way, and it was time for Superman to step up and act as guidance for a new generation. Interesting that Nightwing, Tempest, Donna Troy, Red Arrow and Wally West were not able to do that - but then, the story wasn't really about them... I have a hard time with a Zombie Spider-Man being out there, unless there's some sort of Adult Content Advisory or some way to set it apart from the different flavors of Spider-Man available.

                    That's just my two cents

I viewed it as kind of like the Hulk wanting to rape Betty in Ultimates...the heroes become cowardly, craven ghouls. It was really a complete desecration of the characters. Then again, I think the regular zombie book that MZ writer Robert Kirkman does "Walking Dead" is pretty overrated, cliched and a rip from other films...and I like zombie movies. I always thought Kirkman got way too much credit for essentially doing a Romero movie with stock characters that just doesn't end.

Joe Quesada will ***** anything for a quick buck, and product integrity be damned if it gets between him and a thin dime. Things like "Civil War", "The Death of Captain America", and "One More Day" are merely pit stops on the downward spiral towards comi-exploitation (hey, I just made a new word!) drek like "Marvel Zombies". I saw the zombie Spider-Man figure in a case at Forbidden Planet in Manhattan, and I felt a real urge to head over to Marvel Studios to punch Joe in the face. Instead, I went home and canceled my subscription to Amazing Spider-Man, which I had from 1979 until December of 2007.

Sadly, it will only get worse as they sell to the lowest common denominator to try and rake in short term cash. Once they ***** it so badly that their market share (and profits) tumble, it will be too late to salvage them in some respects.

Don't forgot Spidey as a clone in the horrible storyline list.

I liked Civil War a lot. I'm concerned they will make Tony Stark turn out to be a Skrull in order to avoid any serious change in direction, just like they did with this terrible Spider-Man "One New Day" "plot"-line.

While, I'm ranting a bit, couldn't DC let Jason Todd stay dead?
