I'd be surprised if it stuck. They "ended it" before in the early 400's only to revert to original numbering when issue #500 came around.Comment

This is more than likely being rebooted the following month as part of Marvel's "NOW" initiative. I'm a BIG stickler for the legacy numbering so I personally don't like this constant renumbering on classic titles like this and "Action Comics", "Detective Comics", etc.Think OUTSIDE the Box! Anyone really think that in at least 10 years, some new blood won't come in and dial the numberings back to the original (like they've already done once or twice at Marvel), and maybe even reboot back to the status quo? No one thought Hal Jordan would ever return, and no one really wanted Barry Allen to return anymore, except DiDio...

From what I've read it sounds like Marvel plans to follow DC as far as full reboot on some characters. I thought that is why we had the Ultimate Universe? Newbies could read Ultimate Universe comicbooks because they didn't understand or wanted something new. I find this really odd and wouldn't think that Marvel would be that stupid. We'll see what happens when it happens.
As for DC comics; DC 52 sucks ***! I'm hoping that with DC's multiverse that the real DC universe is on one of those Earths and they return to it after the bad sales and they scrap DC 52 or keep it around as DC's version of Ultimate comics. Yeah, I'm dreaming.More custom Mego madness on Facebook right here...

That's kinda the reason for doing the multiverse: you can go back to any setting you want whenever you want. I wouldn't be surprised to see flareups of ALL the old universes at some point, kinda how they did the Earth 2/Earth 1 stories back in the 70's. 'Course, it won't be with the frequency the older fans would want, but it'll be there.

True, and it amazes me how little they learned from the comics that claimed the market from them afterwards.

They'll more than likely reboot with a new issue 1 and a rehash of Spidey's orgin with a new writing/art team. We've seen this before. This is why I stick with independent books these days. I'll see the movies, but I'll pass on the DC/Marvel books, unless it's stuff from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and early to mid 90's. Thought Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Girl, and Civil Wars were good, though.Comment
