Since the only 2 versions I ever knew were the 60s Marvel Men cartoon and the Lou Ferrigno Hulk, I'll have to go w/ those. Everybody sing: "Doc Bruce Banner, belted by gamma rays, turns into THE HULK, (ain't he un glamour-ay?) Wreckin' the town with the power of a bull. Ain't no monster clown who is as lovable as ever-lovin' HULK! HULK, HULK!"

Seems to me the HULK is best when he's a ticked-off version of Frankenstein
---which was basically the original concept was it not?
Also...
I like the idea that Banner would be a smart guy ---and a guy that altho'
not particularly "easygoing" (if he WAS how could he turn into the HULK?)
at least that he TRIES to be easygoing....as much as he can.
THe classic line: "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."
hits it on the nosey for me in this vein. (I wonder if they can use that line
in the upcoming flick? The new HULK movie seems fan-friendly, and not too
serious enough to try to force that line in there!)
On that note, I liked the fact that he was taking strong drugs for
anger management in the new AVENGERS cartoon---that makes perfect sense
to me for the (dual) character.Last edited by huedell; Jan 31, '08, 4:05 PM."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. Okay I change my mind if I can I was basing it off the concept of the comic, but If I can choose T.V hulk(Lou Ferrigno) then I take T.v hulk as my FAV.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

I only have one favorite version of the Incredible Hulk
Bill Bixby as Dr. David Banner Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk w/ Jack Colvin as Jack McGee
The TV series hands down and bar none.
Speaking of which, I thought I'd pass along that TVShowsOnDVD.com has announced the unofficial word has it that we may see seasons 3 & 4 come to DVD on June 3 this summer which leads me to believe that we may see season 5 around October when the new movie comes to DVD. This is still unofficial until Universal makes some kind of formal announcement. You can read the latest at that site.
Personally, I always thought that the short fifth season would be part of season four since it only had seven episodes.

I think we're all in agreement that the "Hulk Smash" is the most iconic. However, after a half century of that, it's really difficult to find any kind of new angle on that every month in the comics. Which was probably why folks responded so well to Planet Hulk/WWHulk recently... although even that probably wasn't quite the Big Dumb Fella we know and love.
A few years back, they decided to try out the TV Show angle in the comic. Bruce Banner Fugitive for the most part with an added bit of conspiracy paranoia and very little Hulk screen-time. It simply wasn't sustainable. Fans were actually getting ticked that the titular character wasn't showing up as much as they wanted to, and when he did he wasn't showing much personality (or talking ala Ferigno).
I find it interesting to note that the most memorable Hulk storylines for me are the ones that deviate from the formula. Mantlo's crossroads saga the cribbed Hulk's beginnnings from Barry Windsor Smith, Byrne's original run where he seperated Banner, Peter David's Mister Fixit, Peter David's Future Imperfect, Peter David's Pantheon Saga, Millar's Ultimates, and Paul Jenkins' aborted run that introduced the idea of a Devil Hulk inside of Banner. The MPD angle added some dimension and tragedy to the proceedings.Comment

I was a huge fan of Bruce Jones' anthologies in the eighties... neo-EC stuff like Alien Worlds and Twisted Tales, not to mention his Warren Magazine stuff. For a guy that was so obviously influenced by the Twilight Zone style Twist Ending, one would thing that he'd have a huge payoff for all that build-up. I mean Betty was Mr Blue?!
Someone mentioned to me that this entire run was recently retconned out as a creation of Nightmare during Peter David's return to the title. I haven't read that storyline, is Tempus Fugit worth checking out?Comment

She-Hulk.You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment
